Today, we would like to highlight DAISY Honoree Nellie Mata-Medina! Nellie is an ICU nurse whose compassion knows no bounds. Recently, she cared for a long-term Spanish-speaking patient, going above and beyond to ensure he felt comforted and cared for. From wheeling him outside to feel the sunshine, to buying him a life-sized dinosaur balloon, Nellie’s kindness made a world of difference. She also patiently taught him how to care for himself and stayed by his side during every procedure. Thank you, Nellie, for the dedication and compassion you show your patients.
