In this special episode of The #BrewDeckPodcast, we dive deep into the dark and complex world of Roasted Malts, exploring the role these bold ingredients play in crafting the finest beers. Our special guests Larry Horwitz of Crooked Hammock and Tim Roberts regale us with tales of their journeys through the malt-y realms. We learn how these roasted wonders can lend bitterness, astringency, and a touch of that "Burnt" essence to your brews, much like the dragon fire of Westeros. As we venture further, we uncover the secrets of water chemistry, yeast selection, and hop pairings - the keys to mastering the delicate balance required to tame these roasted malts. So saddle up, brave listeners, for a journey beyond the wall of flavor limitations. For when you play the Game of Tones, you win... or you brew. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by Hurricane Helene, which caused severe flooding and power outages in Asheville, NC, and the surrounding areas this weekend. We’re relieved to share that all of our employees and their families in the Southeast are safe. ? Unfortunately, our Country Malt Group warehouse in Asheville has been impacted by flooding and will remain closed until further notice. Our teams are actively working on alternate routes to ensure continued product delivery for our customers during this time. Any orders from the Asheville Distribution Center will be automatically redirected from another warehouse, and customers typically serviced out of the Asheville facility will receive updates from their sales reps shortly. ? We extend our heartfelt sympathies to those who have suffered losses and will continue seeking ways to support the Asheville community. Thank you for your understanding as we navigate this challenging situation.?#ashevillestrong
