It’s no lie that we are born a “blank slate”. As we grow and develop, we begin to identify who we are and what makes us, us. Our true identity is discovered prior to fostering relationships with others, having children, and beginning our careers. The unfortunate thing that occurs is that we often lose focus of our own true identity once these different life aspects happen for us. We find that our identity will adapt to our environment and sometimes we often mold our identity to fit into the life we work on creating as time marches on. As we age and our children leave the home, friends come and go, relationships begin and end, it’s important that we take time to return to focusing on our true identity as individuals to ensure we don’t lose sight of ourselves. Check out our latest blog post! Whether you’re a sixth grader, college student, school administrator, or family member of one of the above, you’re likely busy preparing for the upcoming school year. Sometimes, your anxiety can become more active as that first day comes closer. You may find yourself anticipating what could go wrong, being more reactive with your family than usual, or losing sight of the things that normally give you joy. If you’ve seen Pixar’s Inside Out 2 this summer, you likely remember the surprising new character—Anxiety. Inside Out 2 follows Rylie’s transition from middle school to high school through the lens of her internal family. An internal family is made up of the different emotions each of us carry inside of us. In Rylie’s case, this includes emotions like joy, sadness, disgust, fear, envy, embarrassment, and anxiety. Rylie struggles to direct her life with all of these competing emotions, instead feeling like emotions such as anxiety are directing her.

Kelsa connects best with kids, teens and adults who are dealing with trauma, grief, anxiety and depression. She also offers spiritually integrated care into sessions if clients would like.
