This week, Christina Mastroianni, our Chief Strategy Officer, is representing Richmond at the Economic Mobility Action Network (EMAN) convening, led by CFLeads. Richmond is one of only ten communities selected for this advanced cohort, working to develop an economic mobility agenda that expands pathways to opportunity. The Community Foundation is pleased to announce our new Board Chair,?Victor Branch. He is President of the Richmond Market for Bank of America and a proud champion of all things Richmond.? ? In January, Victor Branch took the helm as board chair of the Community Foundation and will serve a two-year term. He will be joined by new board officers Keith Middleton, Vice Chair, Tricia Harper, Treasurer, and Paula Pando, Secretary. Did you know that in Richmond’s Southside, neighborhood residents with the least tree canopy have a life expectancy up to 20 years shorter than other parts of the city? This stark reality drives the work of Southside ReLeaf, an organization focused on improving the quality of life in Southside by greening communities and advocating with neighbors. Lisa Aikins-Afful, Southside ReLeaf’s Outreach and Engagement Coordinator, plays a key role in this mission — connecting with volunteers, partners, and local officials to promote greening efforts. This MLK Day, Lisa helped lead a project where volunteers removed over 1,000 pounds of trash and more than a dozen discarded tires in just two hours! The Community Foundation is now hiring for the position of Project Support Staff. This role will assist Foundation staff with project planning, event or volunteer management, clean-up, and closeout.
