Lubbock Apartment Association hosted our 2025 State of the City today with Mayor Mark McBrayer. The State of the City Address is a message from the Mayor to Lubbock citizens and business partners. In this annual presentation, the Mayor will discuss the current issues facing our beloved city, offer his strategies for dealing with challenges, and provide current city data on infrastructure and economic development. The information presented allows business leaders and residents to make informed decisions for positive economic growth. A portion of the proceeds from this event benefits a charity partner chosen by the Mayor. Over the past 43 years, $450,000 in event proceeds have been donated to charities of the Mayor's choice. This year, the Mayor has chosen Guadalupe Parkway Neighborhood Centers. Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and sponsored this event. We are looking forward to next year!

A Milestone Moment for Our Foundation Last month, our foundation officially debuted in the Houston nonprofit community. With the incredible support of friends and colleagues across the real estate, fashion, tech, and energy sectors, our announcement and celebration were a tremendous success. A highlight of the evening was the moving and inspirational speech delivered by our founder and CEO, Hillary Krebs, whose passion and vision for supporting survivors set the tone for the impactful work ahead. Under her leadership, we are committed to making a meaningful difference—not only in Houston but across the globe. A genuine thank you to our founding members KEN HENRY and Miranda Stabler for your heart and incredible work. Our advisory board Kattya Lorena Distefano Ashlie H. Moises Brito, and to everyone who attended, sponsored, and continues to support our mission. This is just the beginning, and we look forward to sharing our journey and future successes with you all. A special thank you to Darryl Howard for capturing the evenings most beautiful moments. Your talent and professionalism truly brought the event to life through the lense and we look forward to collaborating again in the future. #NonProfit #CommunityService #Leadership #MakingChange

  • Escaping human trafficking is just the beginning. For many survivors, the journey to true freedom is long and filled with challenges—finding safe housing, accessing mental health support, and rebuilding their lives. The reintegration process can take years, and without the right resources, survivors face a high risk of homelessness or re-trafficking. Stable housing, job training, and legal assistance are not just helpful—they are essential. At The Coming Home Foundation, we are committed to ensuring survivors have the support they need to heal and thrive. Because freedom isn’t just about leaving—it’s about building a future with dignity and security. Let’s work together to make that future possible. #HumanTraffickingAwareness #SupportSurvivors #TheComingHomeFoundation

  • ?? What does “home” mean to you? For many, home represents safety, stability, and a sense of belonging—a foundation that allows us to grow, heal, and build a future. According to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, shelter and security are fundamental to a person’s well-being. Without them, higher needs like personal growth, self-worth, and independence become nearly impossible to achieve. Survivors of human trafficking often escape their traffickers only to face homelessness, instability, and continued vulnerability. Without a safe place to rebuild, many are at high risk of being re-trafficked or falling into cycles of poverty and exploitation. Housing is not just a necessity but a critical step toward recovery and long-term freedom. At The Coming Home Foundation, we are committed to providing survivors with more than temporary shelter. We create a home—a place of safety, acceptance, and support—where they can heal and reclaim their future. ?? A home is more than a roof. It’s a second chance. ?? A home provides dignity, security, and hope. ?? A home is where healing begins. Join us in our mission. Please share this message, support our cause, and help us give survivors a real place to call home. #HumanTraffickingAwareness #EndExploitation #MaslowsHierarchy #TheComingHomeFoundation #EveryoneDeservesAHome

  • ?? Labor Trafficking: A Hidden Crisis ?? Labor trafficking affects millions worldwide, forcing individuals into exploitative work conditions through coercion, fraud, and threats. It happens in industries we rely on every day—agriculture, construction, domestic work, and more—yet it often goes unnoticed. ?? Did you know? Migrant workers are 3 times more likely to be trafficked due to economic hardships and legal vulnerabilities. ?? Forced labor generates an estimated $236 billion in illegal profits annually, making it one of the largest criminal industries. This is not just a global issue—it’s happening in our own communities. We can make a difference by raising awareness, supporting ethical labor practices, and advocating for stronger protections. ?? How You Can Help: ? Educate yourself and others about labor trafficking. ? Support businesses that uphold fair labor standards. ? Report suspected trafficking to the National Human Trafficking Hotline: 1-888-373-7888. Together, we can break the cycle of exploitation. Share this post to help spread awareness! #LaborTrafficking #HumanTraffickingAwareness #EndExploitation #TheComingHomeFoundation

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made last night’s inaugural event for The Coming Home Foundation an unforgettable beginning. Your presence, your belief, and your unwavering support are the foundation upon which this mission will rise. Our founder and CEO Hillary Krebs spoke not just with vision, but with conviction—a call to restore, to rebuild, and to bring hope where it has been lost. In a room filled with leaders, advocates, and changemakers, we were reminded that transformation is not the work of one, but of many, bound together by kindness and purpose. To our extraordinary sponsors, your generosity fuels this journey. To every guest who lent their voice and their heart, you are part of something profound—something that is already changing the lives or survivors and overcomers for the better. This is more than a moment; it is the first step toward a future where every person of every walk of life is afforded the opportunity to be at home. Many more thanks and kudos to our incredible Founding and Advisory Board members. We are doing amazing work together. Miranda Stabler Ashlie H.
