Welcome to the College of Human Environmental Sciences at The University of Alabama – one of the largest divisions of Human Sciences in the country, enrolling almost 4,000 students. A common thread running through each area of study at our College is the determination to improve the quality of life for individuals, families and communities. The College brings together disciplines that impact the human condition including clothing, textiles, and interior design; consumer sciences; public health; athletic training; human development and family studies; human nutrition and hospitality management. In all areas of study, experiential learning opportunities help prepare students for success after graduation by allowing them to practice skills learned in the classroom. Each of our highly regarded programs includes accomplished and award-winning scholars, practitioners, industry professionals, teachers and support staff. World-class labs, facilities and faculty drive innovative research and interdisciplinary collaboration towards the common goal of improving lives.
