I am so proud of the intricate and inspiring work that is on display at the Community College of Baltimore County - Center for Business Innovation. Under the leadership of Dennis J. Sullivan, Associate Professor and Executive Director, the Elite 11 Accelerator Program is underway with eleven small business firms that were selected for a complimentary seat following the invitation-only application process amongst a very competitive field of entrepreneurs across the state of Maryland. The vision of this educational program is to support early stage and growth driven firms through education, mentoring, and financing as we continue the journey of taking our businesses to the next level. A huge thank you to the Philip E. and Carole R. Radcliffe Foundation and Wells Fargo for their generous financial support to make this possible. Now in our sixth year, The Johnson Leadership Group LLC values and cherishes the trust and confidence of the many diverse government agencies, corporations, churches, nonprofits, and academic institutions that we serve, or have served, as a prime and independent contractor, but our work is just beginning. Growth is a priority as stated in our strategic plan. Further, there is excitement in the air at the chances to earn $5,000 in seed money through active participation as well as another potential $20,000 through the annual Business Plan Competition. Possibilities are limitless with the right network of like-minded people. As you start and build your company, focus on how you can solve existing problems, build key and lasting relationships, have a can-do mindset, and believe in yourself and your dream! It was wonderful to feel the energy at the ribbon cutting for The Collective CCBC located in the Owings Mills Extension Center right next door to the Owings Mills branch of Baltimore County Public Library. This retail shop gives opportunity to local product based and service based business to showcase their goods and expand their market reach. There were far to many people in the crowd for photos, but it was good to see Hazel Geary and Rachel McFadden, PE in real life, their team designed the project's website. Always good to see Mark D. Williams Ph.D, Johari A. Barnes, Ed.D. and Jodi Neal, I remain grateful to the team at CCBC that pulled this all together. Big hug for Angella (Agella) Kevas who just "gets it" when it comes to meeting small businesses where they are and supporting them in their next phase of growth. Delise White, this is your project now, and I cannot wait to see where you take it!
