This morning, City of Oxford Mayor Alton Craft had the pleasure of speaking at the World of Works breakfast! The three-day event, held annually at the Oxford Civic Center, brings together over 8,000 students for career exploration and valuable professional insights. The 10th Annual World of Work is off to a great start! ?? Presented by East AlabamaWorks, this career exploration event will bring around 8,000 students to the Oxford Civic Center from March 11-13, 2025. Students in 8th and 11th grades will be able to explore more than 100 careers across 11 different industries, including Public Safety, Construction, Agriculture and Outdoor Resources, Engineering and Technology, Healthcare, and more. They will engage in hands-on experiences and connect with professionals in their fields of interest, gaining valuable insights into their future careers. Thank you to all the businesses and professionals who are helping guide these future leaders on their career journeys and making this experience possible!

On Thursday, March 6, 2025, Girl Scouts visited Oxford City Hall to earn their Government badge by enjoying a tea party and meeting with Mayor Alton Craft. The group had the opportunity to socialize over tea and an assortment of treats, while engaging in a lively discussion with the mayor about local government. Their thoughtful questions provided a deeper understanding of how the city operates, creating a memorable and educational experience for all.
