There is a Code of Ethics for ICMA - International City/County Management Association members. In the lead up to Veterans Day, I was asked how this Code of Ethics aligns with my military experience, and how my military experience prepared me for this role. I am grateful to be highlighted in this month's Public Management Magazine. This is a timely topic for our profession and for our nation. Let's all focus on service above self. https://lnkd.in/egEbmuwD

This Monday, City Manager Mike McNees attended the International City Managers Conference where he was recognized for 35 years of service in local government! He also presented on a panel on emergency response, specifically on how cities and counties can respond to long-term power outages. Luckily, we didn’t experience that during Hurricane Helene! On behalf of the City staff, we congratulate Mike for his 35 years of service – his knowledge and experience have brought stability, professionalism, and ethical standards to Marco Island local government. Thank you Mike!
