The City Lights Foundation of Oklahoma

Recently, our Board of Directors spent an entire day dreaming, thinking, and planning for the next three years of City Lights and the impact we desire to make for our neighbors experiencing homelessness during a strategic planning retreat. Our board currently has 10 voting members, representing various areas of our community. They are who keep the train on the tracks and ensure we are able to serve our neighbors with dignity and care, both now and into the years to come! Thank you to our board members! Today we celebrate Veterans Day and those who have bravely and selflessly served our country in the military. As we honor and express our gratitude, we strive to serve our veterans and connect them to needed resources. 8% of people experiencing homelessness in Tulsa are veterans according to the 2024 Point in Time Count. Today, let’s honor their service not only by celebrating their bravery but by taking meaningful steps to ensure all veterans have a safe and dignified place to call home. This year, our Tulsa office is honored to partner with The City Lights Foundation of Oklahoma, a nonprofit that has brought hope and dignity to those experiencing homelessness since 2013. Through fundraisers, donation drives, and hands-on volunteering - like recently helping sort and organize donations - we’re proud to support their mission of fostering connection and community. With the cooler temps arriving, there’s an increased risk for flu and sickness- especially for our neighbors outside. Saint Francis Health System/Warren Clinic partnered with us last night at Night Light to provide a flu vaccine clinic for our guests! Thank you, Saint Francis, for helping to keep our community safe and healthy!????

100 Ways We Care: The City Lights Foundation of Oklahoma Last weekend, we were proud to serve as a sponsor for City Lights Foundation's Trivia Night at Cain's Ballroom, their annual fundraiser. While we didn't field a trivia squad this year, we were so excited to hear that CLF raised over $90,000, which will go directly towards ending homelessness in Tulsa. What an amazing time we had with each of you at City Lights Trivia Night!?? Did you hear the news? ??? The City of Tulsa's Residential Care Center was officially approved by the Board of Adjustments this week. This will be Tulsa's first low-barrier facility providing temporary housing with supportive services to our neighbors transitioning out of homelessness. The goal of the program will be to move our guests into permanent housing as quickly as possible while working with the City Lights team to get into housing and obtain stability. This is just one piece of the puzzle when it comes to homelessness and housing in our city, but we are grateful to be trusted with operating this program for our community! #buildingrelationships #restoringcommunity ??: Mike Simons, Tulsa World
