On Saturday, we had the privilege to visit and interview 1953 Indiana Mr. Basketball Hallie Bryant. The 1983 Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame inductee will be part of a documentary film in the works exploring the story of Indianapolis' legendary Lockefield Dust Bowl!

Last night, we had the honor of hosting an incredible event to celebrate and show appreciation for our amazing sponsors and partners. The night was filled with gratitude, energy, and connection as we reflected on the collective efforts that have made all our endeavors possible. We simply couldn’t do it without the unwavering support of these organizations and individuals who continue to invest in our mission. Their contributions empower us to keep making an impact, and we look forward to growing together as a community. Here’s to many more successes ahead AfroBall Indy! Thank you Cummins Inc., Eli Lilly and Company, GANGGANG, The City League and InnoPower LLC (InnoPower Indy) to just name a few! #afroballindy #sponsership #collaboration #support

This year’s show will be at the Global Village Welcome Center by the old Lafayette Square Mall on the West Side. Go get your tickets and come out to enjoy the show. Last year’s event was dope! It's been a fun last two months of basketball and community activities at the Boner Fitness & Learning Center and the Indiana State Fair. Thank you to everyone who played a part in continuing to build something special for our city! Special thank you to Steve Smitherman and CareSource for the support they gave The City League as the "League Leading Partner" for a third consecutive summer. TCL would look very different without their investment in our community. We look forward to 2025..

Thankful to work with New Shoe Day last week at CareSource - John Boner Neighborhood Centers Back to School Night at The City League!
Founder, New Shoe Day | MDLF Fellow | Leader, Account Management at GadellNet Consulting Services | Riley Children's Foundation Board Member
One week --> Three Shoe Drops --> 2x your Impact In the past week New Shoe Day provided hundreds of pairs of shoes to students preparing to go back to more than a dozen schools. The ability to obtain proper footwear for a student in need is a significant issue (more than we ever realized) among under-resourced Indiana communities. So far this year, we have provided over 2,000 pairs of shoes, yet our pipeline of demand is nearly THREE TIMES this....and growing every. single. week. To help address this ever growing issue, we are inviting the community to participate in New Shoe DAY: Community 5k on August 10th. There are several ways to get in the game: *FUNDS RAISED WILL BE MATCHED UP TO $15,000* 2x your impact by: -For a small registration cost, join the #NSD Community to virtually run or walk a 5K on 8/10 to raise money for new shoes for youth in need (link in comments). #matched -Sponsor: We're looking for more significant support via event sponsorships (individual or company). Elevate your company and your brand by supporting this mission with us. Reach out to me directly if you are interested. #matched -Donate to the event in general fashion, or donate to a specific participant already signed up (link in comments). #matched Join us and help provide proper footwear to #indiana youth who need it. #newshoeday #impact #DONATIONSMATCHED #youth #indianapolis

Big shout out to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the program they run, that pays non-profits to help staff the Indianapolis 500. The City League has sent volunteers to the race the past two years. It is a great opportunity for us to raise some money while also getting an up close & personal experience of one of the world's greatest events. Public thank you to all of our volunteers who put in a 13 hour day, pushing through a rain delay to support TCL!

We are excited to announce that we will be kicking off The Summer of Hoop Dreams in Chicago! On June 8th we will be taking three teams, representing Indianapolis , north to the Windy City to compete against some of Chicago’s best. The action will happen at the Breakthrough Family Plex in Garfield Park, on the west side of one of our country’s hoops hot beds. Garfield Park brought Arthur Agee and the iconic documentary Hoop Dreams to the world more than 30 years ago. The famous west side neighborhood is also where basketball legend Isaiah Thomas cut his teeth on the game. We are looking forward to bringing our best to Chicago to show them what Indiana basketball looks like up close & personal! We can’t think of a better way to kick off what will be a phenomenal summer of hoops and community activities at The City League. We believe this is the start of something of value to our communities in both Indianapolis & Chicago. Looking forward to building with DeAngelo Johnson and Breakthrough !
