?? Big news! We’ve relocated our Detroit Regional office to the historic Book Tower, a landmark we proudly helped restore. With more than 100 years of shaping Detroit’s skyline, from the Fisher Building to Michigan Central Station, our move to Bedrock Detroit's Book Tower reaffirms our commitment to preserving history while building the city’s future. As part of the restoration, we helped bring this century-old landmark back to life, recreating 7,000+ square feet of ornate ceiling tiles, reinstalling 50,000 square feet of marble, and replacing nearly 2,500 windows with historically accurate versions. Now, our new 10,000-square-foot office blends historic elegance with modern functionality, reinforcing our dedication to Detroit’s ongoing revitalization. We’re proud to continue our legacy in the heart of this great city! ?? https://lnkd.in/gF7DGZ5e #BuildingDetroit #HistoricPreservation #ChristmanCompany

We have another exciting #APTMember update to share. APT members Ronald Staley, FAPT, APT RP, Rob Yallop, and Austin Giesey 's book, Ruin to Revival, Restoring Michigan Central Station: The Builders’ Journey, is *finally* back in stock and available for orders (it's been out of stock for several weeks). They describe detailed restoration of eight acres of historic masonry surfaces, constrained by seasonal weather limitations, safe sequence of work, and restoration of one of the largest Guastavino vaults. From reopening the original limestone quarry to using 3D printing for lost ornamentation, this is a unique capture of the construction process seldom documented in the industry. Congratulations to our fellow APT members. And if you're interested in getting a copy, order it quickly before it's out of stock again. #historicpreservation #MichiganCentralStation

English philosopher and physician John Locke once said, "Curiosity in children is but an appetite for knowledge." We couldn’t agree more. Creating spaces which spark curiosity excites us when we build for our K-12 education clients. Whether incorporating biophilic design to help boost moods or designing unique spaces where students can be creative, building for the next generation, who will go on to inspire the world, is why we do what we do. Working with our architect partners GMB and SHP, we incorporated color, texture, and unique shapes into breakout learning spaces for Ludington Area School District and Guilford County Schools Peck K-8.

Gilda's Club Grand Rapids fosters community and resilience through support groups, educational resources, and social activities, meeting people where they are in their journey. We’re proud to support this impactful organization that provides comfort and hope when it’s needed most. With over 40 million Americans managing mental health concerns, the need for purpose-built behavioral health facilities has never been greater. Traditional hospitals often fall short in meeting the unique safety and design requirements for these spaces. That’s why healthcare systems are turning to construction experts to create secure, patient-centric environments that foster healing. From innovative materials to early-stage BIM planning, the industry is reshaping how we build for behavioral health. Learn how specialized facility design is evolving to balance security, functionality, and aesthetics. ??
