关于我们

The Chris Long Foundation is a nonprofit, founded by two-time Super Bowl Champion and 2018 NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year Chris Long. We are dedicated to serving those most at risk, at home and abroad. Started in 2015, The Chris Long Foundation has engaged in both international and domestic programs focused around clean water, educational equity, and military support. Our programs strive to generate impactful results by creating opportunities and providing resources, financial support, and meaningful experiences to those we serve. Waterboys is our cornerstone initiative that unites professional athletes from across the NBA and NFL with fans to bring clean water to East African communities in need. To date, we have provided water to over 235,000 and are well on our way to reaching our goal of providing clean water to 1 million people. Since 2017, our educational initiatives First Quarter for Literacy and Pledge 10 for Tomorrow have infused over $2.25 million into educational equity programming and early childhood literacy. We are a team of professional athletes and passionate fans, ready to make a difference. Join us.

  • ?? World Water Day 2025 In 2024, Super Bowl Champion Isaiah Stanback traveled to Tanzania as part of our Conquering Kili cohort, witnessing firsthand the life-changing power of clean water. Walking alongside communities and seeing the impact of sustainable water access opened his eyes to a reality that far too many face: the daily struggle for something many of us take for granted—safe, clean water. Access to clean water is more than a basic need—it’s the foundation for health, education, and opportunity. In East Africa, entire communities are transformed when they no longer have to walk miles to collect contaminated water. Kids stay in school, women and girls have time to pursue dreams, and families can thrive. Through our Waterboys initiative, we’ve been able to change 580,000 lives and counting by installing nearly 140 deep borehole wells in Tanzania and Kenya. These wells aren’t just about survival—they’re about creating a future filled with hope and possibility. ?? Big news out of Philly! This past December, we teamed up with Liberty Coca-Cola to officially launch EdZone in Philadelphia, bringing essential resources directly to students in high-need schools. Through EdZone, students in select Philly community schools now have confidential access to hygiene products like soap, toilet paper, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other necessities—ensuring they show up to class comfortable, confident, and ready to learn. We kicked things off at James Logan School with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring students and Chris before an inspiring day of service at Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia warehouse, where volunteers from partner organizations packed essentials for kids across the city. None of this would be possible without the generous support of Liberty Coca-Cola Beverages! We also want to shout out support from Yards Brewing Co., Chickie's and Pete's , and Chick's Philly—thank you for making a lasting impact on Philly students!

1 year ago today I got to celebrate with the school children of Tanzania. On behalf of the #chrislongfoundation we were able to build a water tower for this school so they could have access to clean fresh water. Thank you Chris Long and your foundation and the partnership with Xylem. #watermark #cleanwater #love #lovethechildren #tanzania Susan O'Grady patrick decker

  • ??? ? Our 2025 Conquering Kili cohort officially conquered Mount Kilimanjaro! It took the team eight challenging hours hiking uphill to reach the summit: Uhuru Peak, where the wind was freezing and blowing at more than 30 mph. The summit sits at a nearly 20,000 foot elevation. ?? Conquering Kili Co-Founder Nate Boyer (who completed his fourth climb after running a half marathon for Waterboys), 2025 Team Captain Erin Baskin, and this year’s cohort of athletes, military veterans, and clean water advocates have worked hard to raise funds and awareness for Tanzanians in need of lasting clean water. The Conquering Kili team descended to meet up with the Chris Long Foundation team and relax after five challenging days of hiking and one day descending. ?? Check out some of these photos and videos from the last part of the climb and at the peak! And join the Conquering Kili team in raising funds for our clean water projects in Tanzania by visiting our website at waterboys.org

  • Our Conquering Kili program is currently ago in Tanzania! Here's a recap of day 1: ?? These photos are taken from the communities of Mikungani and Themi Ya Simba. We first traveled to Mikungani, where our Kili climbers and Chris Long Foundation team were welcomed by community leadership and learned how the Waterboys well has impacted the area. The well serves a local health clinic. The lead doctor gave us a tour and shared that waterborne illnesses are down 90% since they received the well in 2022. The clinic has a labor and delivery room where 4-5 babies are born each month — the well has been a huge boost for maternal and child health. We also went to a future distribution site (i.e., a public water tap) at the nearby school where the Kili team threw a football around with local primary school students, who showed us the hand dug well they have been using as their primary water source. ?? The well is 50 feet deep, accessed by lowering a bucket on a rope—when full, the bucket weighs around 40 pounds. This water is used for cleaning and other uses, but it is unsafe to drink and students have to bring drinking water from home. The Mikungani well is extremely productive, yielding many more liters per hour than most other wells-around 20,000 liters per hour in this case, serving over 4,000 community members, including over 1,200 children. Next, we visited the community of Themi Ya Simba, where we visited the public water tap and saw people filling up multiple jerrycans to take back to their homes. They were loading the jerrycans onto donkeys and motorbikes. Conquering Kili 2025 Team Captain Erin Baskin thanked the community for welcoming us and emphasized that these site visits show exactly why we do the Conquering Kili program. We also went to the nearby school that is served via an additional water distribution point and got to meet the students, who gave us a very warm welcome. Themi Ya Simba primary school has 346 students. Thank you to Procter & Gamble for funding both of these wells through their Children’s Safe Drinking?Water?program.

  • "Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’" — Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King reminds us that service is necessary for change. Through our work at the Chris Long Foundation, we strive to answer this call by supporting clean water access, educational equity, and basic needs for communities worldwide. We believe in access and opportunity everywhere. How will you answer his question today and in 2025?
