Our Center for Violence Prevention researchers developed a protocol to help stabilize youth experiencing long stays in emergency rooms due to mental health crises. The findings, recently reported in AAP Global Health's Pediatrics, demonstrated how the new approach helps families manage immediate stressors and equips them with strategies to ensure a safe return home and transition to outpatient care.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia转发了
Bom dia! We were so excited to once again host medical students from Faculdade de Ciências Médicas da Santa Casa de S?o Paulo (FCMSCSP) at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia as part of the "Researchers of the Future" program. These five students spent the first two months of 2025 shadowing CHOP research departments in a unique partnership that also allowed our faculty to see their own research from a different perspective. At yesterday's closing ceremony, the students shared experiences and highlights from their time at CHOP with the new colleagues and connections they have made. Obrigado to our five 2025 FCMSCSP visitors: Juliana Diamantino, who was matched with Dr. Joe Zackular (Pathology and Lab Medicine) Cibele Alaminos Noronha, matched with Dr. Mustafa Mir (Center for Computational and Genomic Medicine) Camila Bergueiro Martins De Oliveira, matched with Dr. Adeline Vanderver (Neurology) Maria Eduarda Palomba, matched with Dr. Kate Hamilton (Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition) Aisha Ali El Zoghbi, matched with Dr. Laura Vella (Infectious Diseases). A special thank you to the CHOP faculty and staff who participated as well as our Office of Academic Training and Outreach Programs for leading this initiative!
