Seth Rudetsky is our 2024 Inspire NYC Award recipient! The Inspire NYC Award is presented to local performers and artists who use their creative voice to fight cancer.? It is hard to imagine a more talented, passionate, and upbeat ambassador for the Broadway universe than Seth Rudetsky. As pianist and musical director, he has performed in over a dozen productions, including Ragtime, Les Miserables, and The Phantom of the Opera. He made his acting debut in 2007 in The Ritz with Rosie Perez, and co-wrote and co-starred in the hilarious musical, Disaster!, which was a New York Times Critic’s pick and is now performed all over the country.??Rudetsky has also channeled his energy into raising awareness about cancer, and few have mobilized the Broadway community more effectively. Over the years, he has participated in fundraisers for organizations like The Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative and Gilda’s Club NYC, and he is very proud that he and his husband won the Founders Award for Resilience from the Cancer Support Community in 2020. As the afternoon Broadway host on SiriusXM, he encourages people to become more educated about cancer: its causes, research, preventative care, and of course, a potential cure. Throughout his work, Rudetsky has urged those diagnosed with cancer to seek out multiple opinions, and not to give up. It is an honor to have Mr. Rudetsky as part of our mission and to present him with this award. Attendees of the Gala had the opportunity to see a performance by Seth and the Tony nominated Broadway performer Anika Larson. Ms. Larson was nominated for her portrayal of Cynthia Weil in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. #InnovationGala #CancerResearch

#PancreaticCancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States. With approximately 64,000 new cases expected this year, it often remains undetected until advanced stages due to vague symptoms such as abdominal pain, weight loss, and jaundice. The current 5-year survival rate is only 12%, emphasizing the critical need for early detection and improved treatment options. Raising awareness is essential in the fight against pancreatic cancer! By sharing information and supporting research, we can work towards better outcomes for those affected by this disease. #PancreaticCancer #CancerAwareness #CancerInnovation #EarlyDetection #CancerResearch
