This past weekend, both Sorelle and Charleston Grill proudly represented BHC at the first-ever Food and Wine Classic Charleston's Grand Tasting, serving signature dishes like Carolina Shrimp with N??c Ch?m and Bruschetta Al Caviale. Simultaneously, the Sorelle team hosted two intimate Dine Arounds, celebrating the fresh, vibrant flavors of Amalfi. A special thank you to Sorelle's generous sponsors, Petrossian and Bona Furtuna, for helping us make these dishes even more memorable. We’re incredibly proud of our teams and the outstanding culinary talent across Charleston. To show our appreciation, we hosted a week full of fun and memorable activities. The team came together to relax and enjoy delicious food at special lunches, offering a chance to connect outside of their busy schedules. We also participated in team games and friendly competitions, keeping the energy high and the smiles wide, adding a bit of fun to each day. In honor of #WorldGratitudeDay, our teams across the BHC collection, Beemok Capital, Modern Minds, and the full family of businesses came together to give back to the community that gives so much to us. On Friday morning, we gathered at Colonial Lake Park with our friends at the Charleston Parks Conservancy, clearing weeds and prepping garden beds for fresh growth. It’s our second year celebrating this important holiday through hands-on service, and each time reminds us of the significance of caring for our shared spaces—and each other. A big thank you to the Parks Conservancy, and to Courtney (Long) Capata for organizing such a meaningful and fun day. We wrapped up with a delicious al fresco lunch from Sorelle, sharing food and gratitude ahead of the weekend. Here’s to community, connection, and the power of giving back!

This month’s spotlight is on Jennie Jaus, Door Greeter and member of the Guest Services team at The Charleston Place. Q: Where are you from? A: Charlotte, North Carolina. Q: How long have you been with The Charleston Place? A: A little over two years. Q: What is a skill you’ve always wanted to learn? A: I wanted to join the Navy and become a meteorologist! I love anything related to the Earth, atmosphere, and outer space. Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? A: I would love to travel to Ireland to explore my family’s roots! Or to NYC for Yankee baseball and Broadway shows. Q: What’s your favorite thing about your job? A: I love my job on every level — from the company I work for, to the hotel management, to all the guests who visit Charleston's Living Room. I love it all! Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and how would you use it? A: Zoolingualism! I'd use it to talk to all kinds of animals, especially sharks (they're my spirit animal!). Q: What’s your favorite way to spend a day off in Charleston? A: My favorite days off are spent by the water, whether on a beach or near marshland. I especially love Folly Beach!
