I’ve been under the weather the past couple of days so I’m late to posting my gratitude to the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii, Sherry Menor-McNamara, and her amazing team for allowing me to serve on the Board. From mentorship and advocacy of our small businesses, to workforce development to investing in our young professionals, the Chamber is doing so many great things for our community. Mahalo and keep up the great work. Congratulations to Jordan Odo being named YP of the Year! I am so impressed with all you have done since we first met on the board at the YMCA. Excited to be working with Noah Pomeroy, CMT-P in the Impact Accelerator. His work in mindfulness is something more employees and employers could benefit from.

On Tuesday at the 174th Annual Membership Luncheon, we recognized three outstanding individuals for their contributions to our Chamber Ohana and the wider Hawaii community. Congratulations to Jason Higa of FCH Enterprises, Inc., who was selected as Board Member of the Year for his exemplary work in advancing our initiatives since he joined the board in 2019, especially throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Young Professionals Program Member of the Year is Jordan Odo of American Savings Bank who created the YP Civic Engagement committee and now serves as YP Chair-Elect. Marites G B Galamgam of James Campbell High School was selected as Educator of the Year for her dedication to creating opportunities for students to learn about career pathways. Congratulations and thank you from the entire Chamber family! ??

The event featured keynote speakers Mike Newquist and Neil Doward from Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, who shared the company’s unique history and ties to Hawaii, along with their vision for the upcoming show ‘Auana.’ Mahalo to panelists Sarah Guay, Jan Kaeo, Noah Pomeroy, CMT-P, and Leila Fujinaka for their valuable insights on leadership, communication, and mental well-being in the workplace. We've never been so sundrenched and happy. Our annual Business on the Green at Hoakalei Country Club was a great way to kick off the work week. Mahalo to Alsco Uniforms for their ongoing support year-after-year to make this event one of the best places to do business. Next year's will be our lucky 13 so stay tuned.
