The Center for Violence Prevention Research (the Center) is a federally funded, 501(c)(3) nonprofit research institution founded in 2021 by Dr. Melissa Bright. The Center conducts rigorous research to identify what works to prevent violence against women and children. They increase the impact of violence prevention efforts by bridging the gap between science, practice, and community stakeholders. The Center’s work is rooted in the belief that by conducting sound scientific research and effectively disseminating their findings among community partners, they can transform the ecosystems that prevent violence, protect women and children, and save lives. The Center has a long history of collaborating with top subject matter experts, researchers, and partners in the field. The Center for Violence Prevention Research is hiring! We're seeking a part time research assistant to support a diverse portfolio of projects. We conduct research on preventing violence against women and children at all levels of the social ecology. We're looking for someone with experience supporting research project management or experience in direct service + interest in learning how to conduct research. Research Project Manager Alyssa Amendola recently guest authored a piece for Public Health Post on the link between reproductive health laws and violence against women. Short story: the link between access to reproductive health care and violence is well established; as state laws restrict access, we are likely to see increases in violence - including fatal violence - against women.
