??Don't miss Meredith D. Clark speaking in a Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School talk.?? In the wake of Vice President Harris’s official nomination as the Democratic candidate for President, issues about how the press covers female candidates running for public office (particularly when a candidate is also a woman of color) are again on full display, both obviously and subtly. The Shorenstein Center is hosting a timely panel discussion with journalists and scholars about how the media has seeded, promoted, and occasionally knocked down bias, sexism, and misogynoir in public discussions about female politicians, and what the research says about how this coverage has changed in recent years (if at all). Shorenstein Center Director Nancy Gibbs will moderate. This event is co-sponsored by the Women and Public Policy Program at HKS. "Is she electable, though?" Gender Bias in the Media. ??September 17th, 2024 ?3:00pm ??Zoom Webinar Learn more and sign up below ?????? #GenderBias #MediaRepresentation #WomenInPolitics #MeredithDClark #ShorensteinCenter #PublicPolicy #Misogynoir #PressCoverage #WomenInLeadership #WomenOfColor #DiversityInMedia #HarvardKennedySchool #Journalism #PoliticalCommunication #ZoomWebinar #NancyGibbs #BiasInMedia #Election2024 #FemaleLeaders

关于我们
At CITAP, we study technology in the context of the people who design, use, and govern it. We analyze how social differences shape unequal dynamics in our information systems and prioritize questions of power. And that work produces insights that inform and support a digital future rooted in equality and justice.

My first solo-authored publication has just gone live! It's called: "You can't fight what's already happening, right?": A case study of Christian live-streaming." It is based on fieldwork and interviews from two churches in Austin, TX in 2019. I thoroughly enjoyed speaking with church leaders about church culture, technology, and community. In the discussion section I consider possibilities for further research on live-stream during and post-pandemic based on this study. https://lnkd.in/efVarwsZ
