Join The Center's Donna Deckard, Kati Peditto of DLR Group, Julie Kent of Trinity Health and Annette Klaus of Steelcase Health for comprehensive online study sessions to help you prepare to take the EDAC exam. The sessions provide general information about the types of questions on the exam, as well as an overview of the six domains included in the exam. In this four-part series, presenters will provide a detailed review of content from each of the study guides and discuss key concepts that you need to know. The sessions will be presented as follows: April 4, 2025: Study Guide 1 – An Introduction to Evidenced-Based Design April 11, 2025: Study Guide 2 – Research – Building the Evidence-Base April 18, 2025: Study Guide 3 – Integrating Evidence-Based Design April 25, 2025: Review

Our afternoon session at the 2025 PDC Summit was standing room only as members from our Built Environment Network (BEN) shared the work they’ve been doing around Capital Planning: The Foundation for Success in Healthcare.

Evidence-Based Design (EBD) and Evidence-Based Medicine both use research to improve outcomes. In practice, EBD can enhance patient care, boost staff morale, and reduce costs. Presented by The Center's Donna Deckard and Terri Zborowsky at the Discovery Stage session, From Medicine to Architecture: Translating Evidence-Based Practice to Healthcare Design, attendees learned how it could help them achieve their goals.
