We're so proud to be joining with ARCHANGELS and The Joint Commission to support unpaid caregivers with The Care Badge! The Care Badge is intended to acknowledge all those who are doing the valuable and challenging work of taking care of parents, children, a friend, or anyone else. It's a visible way to both celebrate the act of caregiving and to help make critical skills visible, creating a path to employment for caregivers. This is vital at a time when we face a significant shortfall in healthcare workers. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dDcVnCns November is National Family Caregivers Month and it's the perfect time to raise awareness about caregivers and the resources available to help them year-round. Supporting caregivers is incredibly important to me—as an employer responsible for the well-being of our amazing team of associates, as an insurer entrusted with the health of 50% of Rhode Islanders, and as someone who is caring for my own family members. At Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island we want to help caregivers protect their physical, mental, and financial well-being—and that of their loved ones.?One way we do that is by connecting you with resources through our website for caregivers. While some of the programs and services are for BCBSRI members, others are local and national resources available to everyone. You can find it here: https://lnkd.in/e2wJNAXq To all the caregivers, thank you for helping your loved one live the best live possible. ??

November is National Family Caregivers Month. At #BCBSRI, we know so many of our members and associates are taking care of loved ones and need support. To help make their lives a little easier, we created a website for caregivers with resources available through BCBSRI health plans and in the community: https://lnkd.in/e6CYSrRm ? ? And this fall, we were proud to join ARCHANGELS and The Joint Commission in their mission to recognize and support unpaid caregivers with The Care Badge—a visual mark to recognize them and their experiences that can be used on their resumes, LinkedIn, and more. This is intended to celebrate all those who know how to care in the workplace and beyond, and help them transform those skills into new opportunities. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eqzn4sXJ ?

#BlueStarFamilies is excited to join with ARCHANGELS and The Joint Commission in launching the new Care Badge initiative across the nation. The Care Badge is all about recognizing the over 40% of people serving as unpaid #caregivers and the value of the skills they build while caring for family, friends, or neighbors. Free to all, the badge is a visual mark of caregiving experience that helps translate those skill into opportunities and connects caregivers to existing support resources. As we head into #NationalFamilyCaregiversMonth, it’s a great time to kick off a year- round commitment to showing up for caregivers, and we invite companies and organizations to join us in this important movement. https://bit.ly/3AcCxa5 #TheCareBadge #Caregiving #JoinTheMovement

?? Do you know someone who's a caregiver? ?? It's likely. More than 40% of adults in the U.S. serve as unpaid caregivers to a loved one. These caregivers serve as the (often invisible) backbones of the healthcare system. That's why The Joint Commission has partnered with ARCHANGELS to bring the Care Badge initiative to life—part of a growing movement aiming to support, honor and uplift unpaid caregivers. ?? We're joined by leading health systems, healthcare associations and advocacy organizations, and payers in our efforts to help as many as possible earn their #CareBadge to add value to their skills as caregivers. Earn your Care Badge today, or tag someone below who should. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/gvpUF-ZV. Many thanks to Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP), American Heart Association, Aging NY, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island, Blue Star Families, Care.com, CaringBridge, Hilarity for Charity (HFC), Commonwealth of Massachusetts Caregiver Coalition, New York State Office for the Aging, and Northwell Health for their support of the unpaid caregivers through the Care Badge. ????
