Executive Director Amanda Meeker joined Congresswoman Doris Matsui and Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Cathy Rodriguez Aguirre to hold a press conference celebrating the launch of ?Pleibol! In the Barrios and the Big Leagues at the California Museum. "We are really proud to serve as destination for those looking to celebrate California's diverse cultures and histories," said Amanda Meeker. "This exhibit in particular highlights the resilience, pride, and passion of generations of Latinos and Latinas who have made an impact both on and off the field." ?Pleibol! is a Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition that takes audiences on a journey into the heart of American baseball to understand how generations of Latinas/os have helped make the game what it is today. "Thanks to the amazing work here at the California Museum and the Smithsonian, Sacramentans now have the chance to learn, appreciate, and reflect on the triumphs of Latinos within the game of baseball," said Congresswoman Matsui.
