The USAID Digital Forward project, implemented by Cadmus, in collaboration with USAID’s Emerging Technologies team, has launched the Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) Fund. The fund will promote responsible AI use, mitigate AI-fueled risks that can lead to harmful outcomes, and strengthen AI ecosystems to support sustainable and equitable development. The Responsible AI Fund invites all potential implementing partners to submit expressions of interest (EOIs) detailing their capability to implement responsible AI projects. I am excited to share that I am now a certified Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (#AIGP) through the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals. I'm honored to receive this important credential after working hard to build my knowledge, skills and experience in AI governance and risk management, with a focus on diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (#deia). AI governance professionals are tasked with the critical responsibility of evaluating AI, integrating relevant standards and best practices, and developing and implementing strategies for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. With the global expansion of AI technology, there is a rapid, cross-industry need for these professionals to understand and execute AI governance in a safe and responsible manner. The AIGP certification was developed and launched by the IAPP in tandem with the IAPP AI Governance Center. The initial designs of the future Multimodal Logistics Center at the Bere?ti railway station in Ungheni were recently presented as part of a feasibility study conducted with the support of the USAID Moldova MISRA program. This investment project aims to transform the Bere?ti railway station into a regional logistics hub, enhancing Moldova’s access to international transport corridors and integrating the country into the global transport and logistics network. The feasibility study is currently exploring the construction of a Multimodal Logistics Center on an approximately 18-hectare state-owned site. Preliminary estimates suggest that the new infrastructure could accommodate the annual operation of around 200,000 trucks, equivalent to 4 million tons of cargo. The proposed designs for the future Multimodal Logistics Center include railway and road access routes, container cranes, operating platforms, warehouses, and truck parking areas, facilitating efficient loading and unloading of various types of goods.
