It was an honor to be the guest speaker at MBA Research & Curriculum Center High School of Business 2024 Summer Training this morning! MBA Research and Curriculum Center (HQ located in Columbus) is dedicated to supporting educators in the preparation of students for careers in the areas of business management, finance, marketing, hospitality and tourism management, and entrepreneurship. I spent 11 years as a high school educator so sharing my experience and story about both worlds colliding is surely becoming a passion??

We handcraft over 70 variations of the classic candy of Ohio such as cheesecake stuffed buckeyes, M&M stuffed buckeyes, Butterfinger cookie dough stuffed buckeyes, honey lavender stuffed buckeyes, to name a few! Additionally, we donate a portion of proceeds to support the crucial work of Columbus area dog rescues and shelters.

My students really got lucky working with the Buckeye Lady this semester! One of the best clients we’ve had to date! Incredibly proud of the work they put into this semester-long project. Capstone courses are not easy by any means, but this group of students definitely rose to the occasion.
Over the last 16 weeks, we partnered with students in COMM 4337, at The Ohio State University, to develop marketing/PR campaigns. Each group of students produced a campaign proposal consisting of a SWOT analysis, market research, goals, key publics, evaluation, strategies, tactics, budget & timeline. Students concluded their final pitches this past week and we were able to sit in on their presentations alongside their fantastic professor, Jasmine Roberts-Crews. It was amazing to see all the ideas and hard work that the students put into this project, and we can’t wait to begin implementing some of them.
