In the exciting world of college basketball, there are some rivalry games that really pique the interest of the public and get fans really charged up. With two degrees from Fordham and having worked in the President’s Office at Manhattan for three years, I am looking forward to the historic rivalry game tonight between Manhattan University Jaspers and Fordham University Rams at Draddy Gymnasium. The Battle of Bronx - between two schools just four miles apart and rivalry that dates back to 1911. The Jaspers and Rams have played every season but two since the end of World War II with Manhattan have a slight edge in the series. I will be rooting for Rams to win tonight in the “Battle of the Bronx”- and will be making a mandatory pre-game stop at one of my favorite watering holes - An Beal Bocht. Earlier today, the Center for Community Media at the CUNY Newmark School of Journalism hosted the BXEDC, BUSINESS INITIATIVE CORPORATION OF NEW YORK, and Ponce Bank to host a seminar on Zoom focusing on small business loans and what people in The Bronx should know about applying for one. Ruvi Lopez and Rafael Roger explained how the BXEDC and BICNY's loans can be a game changer for small businesses in this borough, and Madeline V.
