Yesterday, Governor Kathy Hochul announced that Greater Morris Park neighborhood will receive $20 million through the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) and NY Forward program. This significant investment will help transform the area into a premier transit-oriented development hub, leveraging the upcoming Metro-North expansion and supporting both commercial and residential growth. This funding plays a crucial role in bolstering the economic vitality of Greater Morris Park, one of the largest job centers in the Bronx. It will also further strengthen the remarkable success of the Metro Hutch Center which is already home to MONTEFIORE MEDICAL CENTER, Mercy University, Marriott Hotels, and attractive Class A Office Space. A great big thanks to Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson and her planning team for leading the charge on this effort. Our team at BXEDC looks forward to working alongside the Bronx Borough President’s Office, local leaders, and community stakeholders to ensure this investment translates into a meaningful impact for businesses and residents alike.
