关于我们
The Broadway League is the national trade association for the Broadway industry. Our 700-plus members include theatre owners and operators, producers, presenters, and general managers in North American cities, as well as suppliers of goods and services to the commercial theatre industry. Each year, League members bring Broadway to more than 30 million people in New York and more than 200 cities across the U.S. and Canada. The League was born in 1930 when Broadway theatre operators came together to promote their common interests and negotiate collective bargaining agreements with theatrical unions and guilds. In subsequent years, the organization’s mission expanded to include serving the various needs of theatrical producers in New York and of national touring shows, as well as presenters of touring productions in cities throughout North America. Today the League is a full-service trade association dedicated to fostering increased interest in Broadway theatre and supporting the creation of profitable theatrical productions.

Meet George Strus, Founding Artistic Director of Breaking the Binary Theatre, 2024 Prince Fellow, and Fellow Member of the Broadway League. “Both in my career and personal life, I have spent much time wondering how my journey might have looked different had I seen authentic and intentional trans, non-binary, and Two-Spirit+ (TNB2S+) representation in the Broadway and theatre space earlier on. I founded Breaking the Binary Theatre, a development and community building hub for TNB2S+ theatremakers, in hopes to set the next generation of TNB2S+ artists up for success by showcasing some of the endless possibilities this industry can provide for them, even if the industry has neglected to consider them in these roles historically. My hope, both with BTB and as a League Fellow, is to work to create clearer pathways for TNB2S+ artists on and off Broadway from as early in a project's lifespan as possible, making us more proactive and less reactive in the ways in which we welcome the abundant, dynamic, and dazzling TNB2S+ community into our spaces." #MeetTheLeague
