For a century, the #foundation reigned as a primary legal vehicle for distributing charitable assets. But today, there are shifts underway among high-net-worth #donors seeking to accelerate their giving. ?? Our analysis of direct giving by the country’s most generous donors has found that very few are setting up perpetual foundations as the primary vehicle for their giving. Instead, they’re opting for hybrid and limited-life entities. ? Learn more about how donors are increasingly deploying a range of giving vehicles to meet their goals: https://lnkd.in/eQ3amMja

???We’re thrilled to announce the wrap of the 9th cohort of the Bridgespan Nonprofit Development Program (BNDP). Participating in the Developing Second Line of Leadership module, the cohort comprised 150 leaders from 20 nonprofits and social enterprises across India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Cambodia. For the closing session last week, shivi sheoraan from IKEA Foundation shared inspiring learnings with the participants. ?? ?????????????? ???? ????????????: Talent development should begin with a genuine belief in people's potential to grow and contribute. ?? ???????????? ???? ????????????: Leaders thrive by recognizing the growth of others as integral to their own journey. ?? ?????????? ???? ?????? ????????????: Building trust and respect may sound simple, but they are foundational to cultivating talent and culture. ?? ?????????????????? ??????????????, ?????? ???????? ??????????????: While structures matter, people remember stories and examples. ????? Good #data leads to good decisions. But gathering data is only worthwhile if you use it. Are you planning to use data differently in 2025? ? ?? For #nonprofit #leadership teams— Here are some basic practices of using a performance #dashboard for continuous improvement, plus a ?? template that can help ensure you follow through: ? ? Determine how frequently you will review the dashboard.? Ex: Quarterly reviews ? ? Assign a “dashboard lead.”? Someone who is on point for updating the dashboard ? ? Plan the review session agenda.? Don’t just go metric by metric through the dashboard—prioritize areas of concern where the team needs to engage to align on steps to address ? ? Drive to action and capture next steps.? Write down next steps to address areas of concern, who is accountable, and by when. Consider a dashboard action template, like the one attached ? ? Follow through.? Set deadlines and then check back. ? ? Close the loop.? Share data and information back with the constituents and communities that are taking the time to provide input and data. It’s an important step in every organization’s approach to?#measurement, learning, and #evaluation.?

Ready or not, US #ElectionDay is here. And with it, uncertainty for #nonprofit leaders. For #nonprofits where politics isn’t central to their mission, Bridgespan partner Laura Lanzerotti says that “just naming that this is a moment that we’re all going through feels like an incredibly critical #leadership move.” “These are the times that really test the culture of an organization,” says Ivan Canada, President and CEO of the North Carolina Center for Nonprofits. Canada has told his staff to be “mindful of what’s on the calendar for that week” and communicative about how they’re being affected. How are you preparing internally and externally for this week? ?? Election Week Survival Guide from The Chronicle of Philanthropy: 1. Acknowledge Reality: Recognize that the election affects your staff, regardless of your mission. 2. Plan Ahead: Make decisions now about policies, #communications, and contingency plans. 3. Create Safe Places: Enable dialogue without assuming all staff share the same views. 4. Build Partnerships: Connect with peers to support each other through uncertainty. 5. Stay Calm: Validate concerns while avoiding catastrophizing or feeding into panic. 6. Think Long-Term: Your core mission continues regardless of electoral outcomes.
