New research is uncovering how breast cancer develops at its earliest stages, opening the door for better prevention, earlier detection, and more precise treatments. Led by BCRF investigators Drs. Joan Brugge, Samuel Aparicio, and Sohrab Shah, a recent study analyzed thousands of breast cells to identify the first genetic changes that may lead to breast cancer—insights that could one day help stop the disease before it even begins.
