We have an IMMEDIATE need for ALL BLOOD TYPES ???Donor response has significantly decreased throughout the summer months, and transfusion needs have also increased. Without immediate participation from donors in the community, the needs of local patients could be severely jeopardized. Blood is used in our local hospitals every day for surgeries, cancer treatments, childbirth, and for emergency trauma responses such as auto accidents. When the need arises, there's no time to wait for donors to come in. ??Type O-Negative blood is crucial for transfusions, especially for children and babies, due to it being the universal blood type. For cancer patients, timely transfusions are essential for their treatment. Kids like Wiley often need these transfusions the same day—there's no time to wait for donors to be called in. The blood must be ready at the hospital, thanks to generous donations made in the weeks and days prior. If you're Type O-Negative, please consider donating. And even if you're a different blood type or can't donate, sharing this message can help spread the word. Let's save lives together! ??

This is crucial for conditions like sickle cell disease, where ethnically matched blood can reduce complications. ? Community Heroes: Despite making up 13% of the U.S. population, African Americans represent only a small fraction of blood donors.
