The Black Sports Business Academy launched in 2020 under circumstances very different from those we see today. ?? Covid has forced the entire world into virtual spaces ?? The murder of George Floyd sparked a worldwide social justice movement ?? Corporate HBCU engagement continued to lack substance Our focus was all about creating experiences that HBCU students would find beneficial and impactful. We also wanted to ensure that doors were opened to allow students to take their skills into their careers and thrive. That focus continues today -- And it works. ? 120 alumni members + 5,000 students engaged ? 48 HBCUs represented in our database ? 70% of alumni working in sports & entertainment Our programming now provides dynamic sports business trips for members to gain hands-on, behind-the-scenes experiences with industry leaders. Thanks to the support of our community and our partners, we're able to provide those experiences while honoring our promise to never charge a student or an HBCU. Liberated Development is at the core of our engagement and development strategy.
