I know the?secret?to crafting a viral?LinkedIn?post. Do you want to know the formula?... It's a 1st sentence that hooks you?in — then a 2nd sentence that's a question. But to keep you reading, a viral?Linkedin?post must: - List your supporting points - with 3 bullets - so it looks organized (Because people only read bullets and parentheticals) My childhood dog Rufus taught me this format 28 years ago — Before he died, he?barked:?"Hey Nick, nostalgic personal references and puppies will always make people remember what you write." Miss ya, Rufus. But what do you think? If the post doesn't end with 2 questions to drive comments will it not go viral? (Remember, every viral post needs 4 "buts" or it will fail. But). Obligatory CTA: Remember to follow me for more business insights that will 100% guaranteed?get you?promoted to CEO of the world. And always end with an emoji ??

If you shop online too much, the cure may be… Ozempic. In a new study by Novo Nordisk, a new weight loss drug, Amycretin (we call it “Ozempic 2.0”), helped participants drop 22% of their body weight. ? For context: That’s 45 lbs on average in just 36 weeks, absolutely crushing Ozempic/Wegovy. ? It’s basically the weight of your whole leg. But here’s the twist: You don’t just eat less. You sin less. Early evidence suggests GLP-1 drugs like this could curb more than food cravings — think drinking, smoking, gambling, impulse shopping. Even doom-scrolling TikTok at 2am? Yeah, they may help cut your impulse for that too. The ripple effects? Massive. Non-food industries built on cravings — retail, social media, and more — could shockingly be affected by Ozempic too. Amex credit card bill too high? Your financial advisor may prescribe Ozempic so you hit up Temu less. Amycretin isn’t just about weight loss. It’s behavior-changing. So… is 2025 the year of self-control in a syringe? ??

Fun Fact: I can play the piano ?? (fave song to hit is Hey Jude). But while the piano is all about structure and precision, the electric guitar is pure chaos. And one guitar invented Rock ‘N’ Roll—the Fender Stratocaster. In fact, Jimi Hendrix famously lit his Strat on fire at a concert. This wasn’t just a stunt—it was the moment Jimi Hendrix became Jimi Hendrix. His Strat turned into a symbol of rebellion, artistry, and untamed energy. The Fender Strat became the best-selling guitar in music history—But few know its wild origin, like how it… ? Inspired the Beatles to become musicians ? Was invented by a guy who didn’t play guitar ? Led to the biggest cash deal in music history at the time This week on The Best Idea Yet, we’re sharing the untold story of the Stratocaster—The guitar that invented Rock, transformed an industry, and forever changed your musical tastes.

Guess this iconic product ?? Here’s a quick guessing game: Inside The Best Idea Yet box is the subject of this week’s episode. This product was… Clue #1: Born in Southern California in the 1950s. Clue #2: Lit on fire on stage by Jimi Hendrix. Clue #3: The best-selling electric guitar of all time, with iconic curves. . . . . . Answer: The Fender Stratocaster ?? The guitar that created Rock ‘N’ Roll (No Strat? No Rolling Stones). The Strat didn’t just change music—it became a cultural icon. And it led to the biggest cash deal in music history at the time. But get this: This iconic guitar almost didn’t happen. That’s right. Its inventor couldn’t even play guitar, and many thought his design was too futuristic to succeed. To hear more on the Fender Strat’s wild untold origin story, check out this week’s The Best Idea Yet. New episode out now.

Red Dye No. 3 was just banned… but it’s still the biggest paradox in food. Because this artificial coloring—found in candy corn, maraschino cherries, and Pop-Tarts (delish)—was linked to thyroid cancer in rats 40 years ago. So the US actually banned the dye in cosmetics 40 years ago. But that’s the paradox: For four decades, you couldn’t put Red Dye #3 in lipstick, but you could put it in candy? You couldn’t put it on your face, but you could put it in your body? And the craziest part? The “Delaney Clause.” That’s an FDA rule that says: If something is known to cause cancer in animals, it can’t be served to humans. Um, sounds like Red 3 violated that hard. (I think my Pop-Tart is still neon red.) So why the delay? Why the wild paradox? 1. Lobbying power: Industry groups like the International Association of Color Manufacturers fought to keep it legal (with lawyers that make $$$$). 2. Regulatory gaps: The FDA doesn’t have a clear process to re-assess foods that have already been approved, even when new research shows something is dangerous. The Takeaway: This highlights the difference between deregulation and fixing regulation. Cutting rules is simple. Reforming outdated systems is complex—but essential. Controversial Side Note: Candy corn is still delicious.

Jason Oppenheim, the Selling Sunset reality star, isn’t just closing million-dollar deals—he’s calling out LA landlords for illegally jacking up rents during the wildfires. ? Some rent prices on Zillow are up 100% since just last month.? ? 1 landlord raised a rental from $13K/month to $23K—overnight. It’s actually illegal under California’s emergency law, which caps rent hikes at 10% above pre-disaster levels. But landlords know displaced locals are desperate and willing to pay for any sense of normalcy. But never let a crisis go to waste. A positive legacy of the fires would be if we cut red tape so that LA could rebuild faster. The wildfires have displaced 100K Angelenos and destroyed over 10K housing units—Considering LA built 10K new housing units in 2024, that wipes out an entire year of housing progress. We’ve said before the #1 way to fix the housing crisis is “Build, Baby, Build” - More housing supply will ease prices. But this is a historic opportunity to cut overly burdensome building regulation that’s helped create unaffordability and a housing crisis in the first place.

I’m rooting for Chuck E. Cheese to win. Why? It offers parents an indoor playground—and in wintery places like Vermont, we badly need that. After filing for bankruptcy in 2020 and getting $700M of debt forgiven, the new PE owners have invested $300M to revive the brand. Animatronic mouse? Out. Trampoline area? In. Most importantly, the new Chuck has embraced subscription revenue—a family pass starting at $8/month. Chuck E. Cheese was once considered a low-brow choice for parents to take their kids. Now, with tablets and YouTube as the alternative, it’s a wholesome break from screentime. Aside from the pizza, this turnaround actually tastes pretty good.
