?? Jason A. Wolf, Ph.D., CPXP shares insights from Chapter 5 of Return on Human Experience: Eight Principles to Inspire Excellence in Healthcare—People Are the Primary Drivers of Experience. At its core, healthcare is humans caring for humans. The workforce is the driving force behind every care experience, and organizations must: ? Act on workforce needs—not just listen ? Foster engagement, wellness & growth ? Create sustainable, supportive environments When we prioritize the well-being of our workforce, we see improved engagement, better retention, and ultimately, better patient experiences. ?? Look forward to being with you there Russell Senger [at HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition, maybe not in the t-shirt :)] I like you will be looking to see how organizations participating are truly taking on an experience purpose. From the lens of the #humanexperience, health information technology (#HIT) must be focused on: 1. Improving outcomes for patients and families in a measurable way 2. Making healthcare more accessible to those who seek care 3. Innovating to ensure efficiencies and new processes make care more seamless (i.e., not just #AI for the sake of having #AI) 4. Reducing the burdens and strains on the healthcare workforce 5. Ensuring the easy, safe, and secure transfer of data/information for both process and clinical excellence and better communication and practice overall. All of this can and should be the #truenorth for health IT as we elevate the humanity at the heart of healthcare. Look forward to meeting those who have these commitments and excited to hear your stories either here or in person next week! And do look for Russell Senger in that shirt and consider what does it mean to you? #humanexperience #patientexperience #himss #innovation HIMSS The Beryl Institute
I will be wearing my "I am The Patient Experience" shirt at the HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition one of the days next week. I often get people that read the shirt out loud to me and pause. You can see their thoughts forming. Its always a strong connection from that point and a great discussion. "I am The Patient Experience" can mean so many things to so many people. As I reflect on what it could mean at HIMSS and organizations adoption of technology solutions, my hope that is that, people and organizations will consider - How will this impact patient experience and how will this help to build a stronger #humanexperience in healthcare. I hope to see many solutions that are: ?? Giving time back to providers/staff so they can create a human connection with patients ?? Giving time back to patients so they have time to heal ?? engaging patients/families so they are better informed ?? Making the financial burden easier ?? Supporting the workforce wellbeing so they can create better human connections ?? Creating a better care environment that is less stressful ?? Removing barriers to access I invite you to stop me and share how you or your organization is "the patient experience" and I invite you to join the community of patient experience champions here at The Beryl Institute and put that conversation into action. See you next week. #himss25 #patientcare #himss2025 #patientexperience
