We love to see it!
I recently participated in the International Textile Alliance Industry Tour in High Point, NC, visiting leading textile manufacturers in the home furnishings industry. This experience provided valuable insights into design and production processes and opportunities to meet industry professionals from the textile and furniture industry. The tour included stops at Crypton Fabric, Arhaus, SPRINGS Creative, The Baxter Mill Archive, Valdese Weavers, Verellen Inc., and Greenhouse Fabrics . The experience was truly enlightening, offering a firsthand look at the intricacies of the home textile design and furniture manufacturing supply chain including the practical aspects to be considered while designing interior textiles. Engaging with esteemed industry professionals throughout the tour, particularly Sydney Harris and Janine Wagers, proved invaluable in shaping my perspective on sustainability within the home textiles and furniture industry. Their insights and expertise inspired new ideas and deepened my understanding of sustainable practices in this sector. I'm grateful to the International Textile Alliance for organizing this enlightening event, with special thanks to Abbigail Felton and Carrie Dillon for coordinating the student experience. I also appreciate Jeff Sackaroff and NC State Wilson College of Textiles for introducing me to this opportunity. This tour has significantly contributed to my understanding of the textile industry and my search for summer internships. #itaef, #industrytour2025, #behindtheseams
