Climate risk is business risk. The #BTeam is joining the call for #G20 leaders meeting next week in Rio to finance climate solutions, not climate disasters. To do this, there are two asks: ? Move the money: Agree a high-ambition finance goal at #COP29? ? Publish the plans: Submit national climate plans (NDCs) by February that can turbo-charge sustainable growth. “Everyone’s home is on fire,” warned Muhammad Yunus, #BTeam Leader and Bangladesh’s interim head of government, as world leaders and policymakers gather in Baku for #COP29. Rich nations “are not safe either,” he said. “They have to act in their self-interest as well as the interest of the whole planet.” Bangladesh is one of the most climate vulnerable nations in the world, with much of its land just a few feet above sea level. Alongside his critique of the insufficient action being taken by countries chiefly responsible for global warming, Yunus affirmed his commitment to clean energy projects and building Bangladesh’s climate resilience during his time in office. ??
