Helping marginalized women with mental health support and digital literacy.

关于我们

Azadi means freedom in Hindi, Urdu and Farsi. At The Azadi Project (TAP), we create safe spaces for women survivors of war and conflict to share their stories or simply seek comfort. We recognize the importance of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) programs in creating strong women leaders and provide psychosocial support using creative tools such as storytelling at refugee and migrant camps around the world.? We have worked with 3 of the most marginalized ethnic refugee groups in the world - Afghans, Yemenis, and the Rohingya. Our programs in India, Greece, Yemen (virtual), Bangladesh, Niger and now in Poland have helped empower over 5000 women by giving them control over their narratives.

World Wildlife Day 2024: Investing in People and Planet Wildlife conservation is not just about protecting species—it is about building sustainable systems that support both people and the planet. From indigenous communities preserving forests to local conservationists restoring ecosystems, long-term financing is essential to ensuring that conservation efforts are both effective and equitable. Why Wildlife Conservation Finance Matters: Protects endangered species and critical habitats Strengthens ecosystems that support climate resilience Ensures sustainable livelihoods for communities that coexist with wildlife Promotes green economies through ethical tourism and sustainable industries. However, conservation cannot rely on short-term aid. It requires sustained investment, policies prioritizing environmental protection, and financial systems recognizing nature's true value. When we invest in wildlife, we invest in sustainable futures—for biodiversity, people, and generations to come. #WorldWildlifeDay #InvestInNature #ConservationFinance #Sustainability #BiodiversityMatters #WildlifeProtection #SustainableFutures

"La honte doit changer de camp." – Gisèle Pélicot Women—irrespective of the gender they were assigned at birth—have carried the weight of shame for too long. History has blamed them for their own suffering, questioned their pain, and rewritten their stories to protect those who harmed them. Gisèle Pélicot endured ten years of violence—gaslighting, chemical submission, and relentless abuse. And when she finally fought back, she was the one put on trial. The media vilified her. Society, as always, asked the wrong questions. But Gisèle refuses silence. "La honte doit changer de camp." The shame must change sides. As we begin Women's History Month, we remember that history is not just shaped by those who are honored, but also by those who have been erased. By every woman who was denied justice. By every survivor who was not believed. By those who are still fighting to exist in a world that tries to make them invisible. This month, and every month, we hold space for their stories. We break the silence. We demand change. #WomensHistoryMonth #GisèlePélicot #LaHonteDoitChangerDeCamp #JusticeForGisèle #BelieveSurvivors #EndGBV #EveryWomanEveryStory

  • Films like Mrs., Laapataa Ladies, Pink, and so many more challenge the patriarchal lens, exposing the gendered realities of labor, control, and autonomy in our society. Meanwhile, films that glorify toxic masculinity are defended with ‘It’s just a movie,’ ignoring the real-world consequences of such narratives. The defense of films like Animal and the dismissive “It’s just a movie” response highlights how easily toxic portrayals of masculinity can be normalized or even celebrated. If speaking out for women’s experience is seen as a ‘war,’ it’s because the systems in power have long silenced their struggles as duties.

  • Google’s decision to remove Pride Month, Black History Month, and Women’s History Month from its public calendar is more than an omission—it signals what is prioritized and what is erased. Representation in public spaces matters and these months are not just symbolic; they acknowledge histories, struggles, and contributions that have long been sidelined. Silence is a choice. What does this say about corporate commitments to diversity and inclusion? #RepresentationMatters #DEI #Accountability

  • This year’s Grammy winners didn’t just take home awards—they used their platforms to stand in solidarity with communities around the world. From advocating for justice to amplifying voices that often go unheard, they remind us that art has the power to inspire change.?

Azadi Leadership Program | Community Project Highlight Kaisar Ali’s project isn’t just about speaking for women—it’s about standing with them. By opening conversations on menstrual health, his community project challenges stigma and shows that true community change means everyone is involved. Because periods aren’t taboo, and awareness isn’t limited by gender. #AzadiLeadership #MenstrualHealthAwareness #BreakingBarriers #CommunityAction Azadi Leadership Program is supported by Libra Philanthropies
