Congratulations to City Of Chehalis and the Chehalis-Centralia Airport on their recent award for a nearly $1M grant through Build America Bureau at the U.S. Department of Transportation for a multi-modal hydrogen study. “There is signi?cant momentum in Lewis County right now for hydrogen. We are excited to take the ?rst step in identifying how the Chehalis-Centralia Airport can play a role in this renewable energy for the community, state, and region” said Airport Director Brandon Rakes. “The grant funds will complete a hydrogen feasibility study, identify private partners for the operation and maintenance of the hydrogen development, and complete necessary environmental studies and access road design.” Rakes said CHAISE will be a place for emerging aviation technology companies to demonstrate their technology, provide connectivity to Lewis County, and workforce development opportunities in the community, while simultaneously reducing the airport’s carbon footprint and generating clean energy. APG is pleased to share that our client, Chehalis-Centralia Airport, received $350,000 (with no match required!) from the Washington Department of Commerce to kickstart their Chehalis Hub for Aviation Innovation and Sustainable Energy. It was a pleasure working with the Washington State Department of Commerce team to make this project happen over the last few months. Its exciting to see the vision that Brandon Rakes C.M. and the master plan team put together start slowly coming to life! Thanks to our partners at Osborn Consulting, DOWL, Facet, EXP and HWA GeoSciences Inc. for making this project happen so quickly. It was a team effort!
