关于我们
The Attainment Network connects partners and drives collaboration to build education-to-workforce systems that support every learner on their path to earning family-living wage employment and economic opportunities through education and skills training. Anticipated Outcomes: -More and more diverse learners complete education and skills training that lead to family-living wage employment. -Career-connected learning that supports the success of all learners and meets economic demands. -A continuum of relevant education and work experiences that create confidence and optimism in achieving economic security. -A Colorado workforce prepared for current and future jobs. -A national model for erasing persistent and pervasive equity gaps, increasing education and skills acquisition and building a highly skilled and educated workforce. The Denver Education Attainment Network (DEAN), a project of The Attainment Network, is focused on increasing educational attainment, closing equity gaps and creating connections to better workforce opportunities for low-income, first-generation and students of color in Denver.

Through our L/Earner Voice Grant program, we're delighted to support the efforts of organizations like Homegrown Pathways and Sami Mooney, CWDP at the Colorado Workforce Development Council to include the voices of learners and earners in transforming?our education to career systems. ? There were a number of great takeaways from this project – especially on how learners in rural spaces get information about credentials – and we look forward to incorporating these findings into our own work moving forward.
We’re excited to celebrate the incredible work of our Youth Program Development Consultants, Madeleine Miller and Neva Hines, on their research project and recent presentation titled “Quality Credentials from a Rural Youth Vantage Point!" Through the support of Colorado Workforce Development Council and?The Attainment Network’s L/Earner Voice Grant, these young leaders have been making an impact by investigating how the new Quality Credential Registry can better serve youth populations across rural Colorado. Last fall, Madi and Neva collaborated with Sami Mooney, CWDP and CWDC staff to understand the registry and begin their own research. Their work included developing targeted research questions, engaging the community through surveys, and analyzing how young people can leverage credentials for career success. A significant focus of their research was looking into how the Quality Credential Tool can be more accessible to students, ensuring it reflects the needs of young people navigating career pathways in rural areas. Yesterday, they shared their findings in a presentation to CWDC and partners as well as to the Ridgway School District R-2 School Board! Neva shared what she learned and found most valuable from leading this work: “For me, it was just getting to be a part of the Homegrown Pathways team, this CWDC project, and also our Spark Lab program and really getting to understand the value of being a youth consultant and being able to share that value with other organizations.… I'm really trying to push the benefits of having youth voice in these conversations because I think there's this stereotype that teens don't care, but more often than not, we just don't have the platform to speak our voice.” In discussion with Sueann Casey of Indigo Education Company and Colorado Career Advising, Madi shared the importance of tools such as Indigo Pathways' Career Finder Quiz in the career exploration process:? “As somebody who is not really sure about what she wants to do later on in life, it's really up to exploring options. [Indigo Pathways’ tool] was a great way to start brainstorming what I want to look at and look into later on.” In addition to their research, Madi and Neva have played a vital role in developing Homegrown Pathways programs, particularly in our recent pilot launch of our Youth Pre-Accelerator, Spark Lab. Their insights have been invaluable in shaping a model that not only benefits their peers but also contributes to bolstering access to quality career and entrepreneurial pathways for rural youth across Colorado. We’re so proud of the dedication, insight, and leadership Madi and Neva have demonstrated throughout this project. A huge thank you to Sami & CWDC, as well as Katherine Stewart and The Attainment Network for their support, and to everyone who joined us to learn from these young rural leaders! #YouthVoice #CareerPathways #YouthLeadership #QualityCredentials #Entrepreneurship #RuralYouth #Colorado #WesternSlope #Rural
