Healthcare?SIG?Announcement Dr. Bernard Jones, MBCP, ACP National Board Member and Special Interest Group Committee Chair is pleased to announce the formation of the ACP?Healthcare?SIG?under the leadership of?Lance Lynch, MBA, CHEP, CBCP?with the support of a remarkable group of?healthcare?resilience leaders forming the steering committee. Lance brings an exceptionally wide range of experience to this role that is both practical, boots on the ground, work as well as influential, strategic leadership. At Parkland Hospital, Lance revitalized a stalled business continuity program by developing a comprehensive framework covering governance, risk assessment, and strategic implementation collaborating with IT and nursing teams to conduct a Business Impact Analysis and formed a C-level Steering Committee to ensure ongoing success. His contributions were recognized as achieving "3-4 years' worth of progress" in just nine months. At JPS Health Network, Lance restored a struggling emergency management program by improving compliance, rebuilding leadership trust, and enhancing mass notification system effectiveness from 40% to over 99%. Previously, at Bronson?Healthcare, he led emergency preparedness initiatives, developed key performance indicators, and implemented training programs that?significantly improved hospital response capabilities.?In his?full-time role, Lance currently serves as the Director for?Veoci's?Healthcare?Program, where he helps?healthcare?organizations across the country (and around the globe) strengthen their Emergency Management and Business Continuity programs. Additionally, Lance holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Spring Arbor University (Michigan), is a Certified?Healthcare?Emergency Professional through?IBFCSM, a Certified Business Continuity Professional through the?DRI International (Disaster Recovery Institute)l, is a member of the?North Texas Chapter - Association of Continuity Professionals, and is a member of the?North Texas Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Gail Moraton Appointed to ACP National Board Gail Moraton?has over 35 years of experience in business continuity, risk management, and enterprise resilience. As the Business Resiliency Manager?at the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) since 2011, Gail has been instrumental in developing innovative continuity programs that support businesses in preparing for and recovering from disruptions. She pioneered reimagined business continuity guidance, tailoring strategies to specific industries/occupancies and perils—from restaurants facing winter weather?to medical facilities confronting wildfires, plus many more. She also led key initiatives, including OFB-EZ?, a streamlined business continuity planning tool, and EZ-PREP?, a severe weather emergency preparedness and response guide. Gail’s expertise extends to enterprise risk management, where she played a key role in designing an in-house framework to identify, assess, and mitigate risks. She has fostered strategic partnerships with the U.S. Small Business Administration, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and leading commercial insurers, and has spoken at national conferences and webinars to advance business resilience best practices. A long-standing ACP Greater Tampa Bay Chapter?member since 2009, Gail has held leadership roles as Program Director, Membership Director, and Treasurer. Her dedication to the profession has earned her multiple ACP Most Valuable Player Awards?for her contributions to the industry. Gail is a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)?and previously spent 25 years at Mercury Insurance Group, where she built and led its business continuity program for 5,000+ employees.
