According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2023 women were still not making the same pay as men for doing the same exact job. How can women help lessen the salary gap when first starting out? ?? Before accepting a job offer, negotiate your salary. Regardless of how excited you are about the position or even the salary offered, negotiate. Research the salaries of people in your city with a similar position and experience as the position you're applying for and use that to guide you. Be prepared. Be confident. Be thorough. We refined the list of ideas for the remainder of our Q1 content. - We'll continue to bring you useful, relevant, accurate information and advice here and on IG. ?? We researched different tools to disseminate our newsletter. - LinkedIn is cool, but *it's important to us that our content is controlled by us and not in a place where it can be filtered, deleted or censored. Let's talk probationary work periods... Upon hiring, some jobs will place you on a probationary work period. This period, usually 90 days, is a “trial” that employers use to see if you are a good fit. The specifics of what the period entails should be provided to you in writing. By agreeing to work there, you agree to the terms. READ THEM CAREFULLY. If you have any questions, reach out to your Manager or Human Resources. A company can release you from employment at any time during this period in accordance with the agreed upon terms. ??
