Join us in supporting children's mental health! Your contribution—whether financial or through your network—can make a lasting impact.
Certare bonum certamen: Helping Tackle the Children's Mental Health Crisis Today, I intended to share reflections on my 60by60 initiative and the lessons I’ve learned so far. However, my focus shifted after reading a deeply concerning article in The Guardian about the state of children's mental health in the UK. The headline struck me: “NHS referrals for anxiety in children more than double pre-Covid levels… More than 500 children a day—or one every three minutes—are referred to mental health services in England.” These numbers are staggering. As they sank in, I found my thoughts returning again and again to the immense tragedy they represent. We cannot accept this tragedy—neither as a society nor as individuals, each of whom was once a child. The mental health crisis among children is not just a statistic; it’s a call to action for all of us. I am incredibly grateful to the incredible people and organizations already working tirelessly to address this issue, but as the stats tell us the challenge is enormous and there is more work to be done, and I want to do my part too. Up until now, EQJOY has focused on empowering children in the U.S. to develop their emotional intelligence skills. Now, I am driven to do what I can to expand EQJOY into the UK to help children there strengthen their resilience and overall mental health through enhanced emotional intelligence. If you share this vision and would like to support our efforts, whether through a direct financial contribution or by leveraging your network, please reach out. EQ is a precious gift we can give to children—a gift that will set them up for life. Any contribution you can make toward this critical fight is invaluable. Thank you, on behalf of the kids, for joining us in this important mission. Certare bonum certamen—Fight the good fight! #EQ #Emotionalintelligence #joy
