We just completed our second 48-hour trial row off the coast of Miami. Two full days on the water tested us in new ways as we navigated challenging wind and sea conditions, refined safety protocols, and strengthened the teamwork that will be essential for The Arctic Challenge. Each training camp reminds us that adaptability and trust in one another will be our greatest strengths as we prepare to take on the Arctic Ocean in just four months. With this milestone behind us, our focus now shifts to: ?? Finalizing expedition logistics ?? Securing key sponsors to equip our team ?? Driving the Million Meters Campaign to raise $1M for our charity partners We are grateful for the continued support from our sponsors, donors, families, and everyone who is helping bring this mission to life. This journey is about more than just us, it's about pushing the limits of human potential and coming together to create lasting impact. There’s still time to be part of this historic adventure: ?? In July 2025, The Arctic Challenge team will push off from land on a historic journey across the Arctic Ocean. In pursuit of a World Record, the 4-person team will test the limits of human endurance as they row 1000km through one of the world's harshest climates. Despite their diverse backgrounds, the team is bonded by a love for adventure and a passion for high performance. Facing the challenge of a lifetime, the team will leverage their unique expertise, stemming from careers in the NFL, Navy SEALs, and Team USA. Behind the mental and physical challenge of rowing the Arctic is the powerful mission to inspire young minds. The team aims to challenge the next generation to defy their limiting beliefs and chart their own course toward extraordinary achievements. To bolster their mission, the team is partnering with two non-profit organizations that support New Orleans youth: Covenant House New Orleans and Laureus USA. The team is thrilled to support these charity partners through service, fundraising, and visibility.

Last month, we completed our first training camp of 2025 with a 48-hour row off the coast of Miami, Florida. It was an incredible learning experience, where we fine-tuned our skills, established boat routines, and gained a deeper understanding of the physical and mental demands we will face during our expedition. We walked away with valuable lessons and are now focused on using those insights to shape the next phase of our training. As we get closer to our expedition launch, we’re excited to keep refining our systems, strengthening our teamwork, and optimizing our equipment. Thank you to everyone who has supported our journey so far. If you’d like to follow along or help us reach our fundraising goal, visit thearcticchallenge2025.com. Last week, The Arctic Challenge team raced 4,800 meters down the Charles River at the historic Head Of The Charles Regatta, finishing strong with the 9th fastest time among 32 competitive crews. More meaningful than the race results was how the team came together to support the mission behind The Arctic Challenge. Driven by a commitment to giving back to New Orleans youth and inspiring young people around the world, we showed up with teamwork, resilience, and the courage to try something new. Thank you to the 5 incredible athletes who joined us on the racecourse to make this vision a reality. Athletes(bow to stern): Maggie Daly, Emily Daly, Harrison Soffer, Jimmy Graham, John Huppi, Andrew Tropp, Meghan OLeary, OLY, Hannah Huppi, and Bennett Rossell A special thank you to Boston University Rowing for the invaluable support throughout the weekend. From providing us with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, to the warm welcome we received from coaches, athletes, and alumni, we truly felt part of the BU Rowing family. It’s clear that BU Rowing has built something extraordinary, and we were privileged to experience the amazing community firsthand! Over the weekend, the team took a break from ocean rowing to compete at the prestigious Head Of The Charles Regatta. Racing in the Director's Challenge Mixed 8+, we proudly promoted The Arctic Challenge and raised awareness for our charity partners, Laureus Sport for Good Foundation USA (Laureus USA) and Covenant House New Orleans. While in Boston, Andrew, John, Hannah and Jimmy had the opportunity to sit down with Whitney P. of The Rowing Channel <TRC> to share the mission behind the The Arctic Challenge. The team just wrapped up an incredible training camp with The Ocean Rowing Academy. From hands-on skill development on the water, to in-depth classroom theory, the camp provided us with a solid foundation in ocean rowing fundamentals. We're heading into our next phase of training with new-found confidence as we prepare for our Arctic crossing. A huge thank you to Duncan Roy for organizing such a professional and invaluable experience—we're grateful for the chance to learn from the best!
Such an epic week in New Orleans training with this awesome team The Arctic Challenge 2025 ???????? We conducted The The Ocean Rowing Academy Phase 1 & 2 Training Course covering everything from coastal navigation and safety onboard through to ocean rowing seamanship and ocean skills and drills ??????????????? Having a high degree of sailing and rowing experience within the crew combined with a humble and hungry approach and a high attention to detail in their preparation meant we were able to really maximise our time together and cover all of the training objectives and way, way more. We had such a good time doing it too and were very fortunate with the weather also. It was great to be there for their awesome launch event for their incredible charity Laureus Sport for Good Foundation USA (Laureus USA) listening to the panel was really quite moving and inspiring. Especially hearing from Arshay Cooper and how the sport of rowing has impacted him and his community ????♀? A huge thank you to the team for making me feel so welcome and for showing me all of the sights and amazing eateries New Orleans has to offer. Beignet and Bourbon Street to Alligator and Viper spotting … what a blast ?????????? Thank you to John Huppi and Tulane Rowing for having me along to your practice sessions. It was awesome to meet the teams and get on the water with you all. Seeing the sun rise each morning on the river was really special ??????♀? A special shout out to Hannah Huppi for her resilience, grit and determination over the last 2 years and driving to make this all happen ???? Oh and thanks to Jimmy Graham for making me look like I’m 4 foot tall in all of the pictures ?? what an absolute tank ???? and Andrew Tropp thank you for the endless morale and all the epic stories. Such a legend! Hannah, John, Andrew and Jimmy, The Arctic Challenge are taking on The Arctic Ocean next summer. Later this week they’re competing at Head Of The Charles. Good luck team, Im sure you’ll smash it. Let’s gooooo ???? #theoceanrowingacademy #tora #wattsequalsknots
