No te lo Pierdas/N?o percas Exploring Immigration Stories Through Poetry In this activity, students dive into a poem by Ricardo Arenas, exploring the journey of Cuban immigrants arriving in the U.S. Working in groups, students then craft their own poems to depict different immigration paths. This exercise builds vocabulary, grammar, and creative writing skills while fostering empathy and understanding. TEACHING TIPS: In class, students study the poem Voces by the Cuban writer Reinaldo Arenas (below). After that, they work in groups to rewrite the poem, using Arena’s model to describe other immigration trajectories. #aatsp #ProfessionalDevelopment #ispeakspanish #ispeakportuguese #notelopierdas
