Resilience is the ability of a health system to mitigate, adapt to, and recover from shocks and stresses. A resilient health system can scale up or adapt services to address these shocks and stresses. Building resilience strategies for clinical and other healthcare workers can also serve as a protective factor against negative outcomes related to the job, including burnout, anxiety, and depression, and can improve patient outcomes.
