Let's talk about AEDs. There's so much chatter about learning how to use an AED which unfortunately intimidates people. We're here to tell you that it's not hard. Click play on this audio graphic and share it far and wide to educated and in turn help hearts and save lives. The Aliver Foundation raises awareness and funds to install all weather AEDs in outdoor recreation spaces while also providing crucial resources and educational opportunities to individuals and communities. Our goal is simple. We want to save lives and help hearts by: 1) Increasing the number of all weather, climate controlled AEDs that are in outdoor recreation spaces 2) Creating access to educational opportunities like CPR and AED training 3) Providing resources and support to sudden cardiac arrest survivors and their loved ones 4) Circulating messaging about the difference between SCA and heart attacks as well as CPR and AED usage The Aliver Foundation was created out of necessity. On Friday, June 25, 2021, our founder, Jill A. Pall died from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) at Echo Lake Park in Union County, NJ. She is only alive because a bystander performed CPR until paramedics arrived onsite with an AED. Like most people who survive SCA, Jill was discharged from the hospital with no roadmap on what to expect. Endless Google searches allowed her to learn more about what SCA actually was and joining Facebook support groups let her learn from and lean on others in a similar situation. She realized that most people she encountered in her daily life did not understand the difference between SCA and a heart attack, weren’t trained in CPR, and didn’t know how easy it was to use an AED. She also noticed that while there were often AEDs inside many facilities and at organized sporting events/practices, there were really no outdoor, all-weather, climate controlled AEDs to be found in public recreation spaces. As a non profit executive with over two decades of industry experience, she decided to start The Aliver Foundation to help others. We have mobilized the survivor and loved ones community, engaged with various first responders and medical professionals, and partnered with other industry experts to serve as resources for our all volunteer foundation.

How did Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month sneak up on us? September was another awesome month because of YOU. We held our 12th Healing Hearts support group, fully funded yet another AED enclosure/device that can remain outside 24/7/365, and our engagement tracked 605% higher than our “competitors” on Instagram since our launch. If we’re not connected on IG (https://lnkd.in/egqKWUYz), let’s change that right now. If you’d like to donate to help fund more equipment, visit https://lnkd.in/enhD7aGn. So many people talk about the sudden cardiac arrest chain of survival, but what does it really mean? In a nutshell, it’s time-sensitive intervention steps that should be taken to maximize the chance of survival and recovery for cardiac arrest patients. We’ve been asked why we would choose an outdoor AED enclosure with a keypad. Well, not only does having an access code keep the AED inside safe from being stolen, but it ensures that 9-1-1 is called, immediately setting the chain of survival into motion. This step (#1) is crucial. #suddencardiacarrest?#sca?#cardiacarrest?#cpr?#cprsaveslives?#aed?#thealiverfoundation?#hearthealth?#suddencardiacarrestmonth?#cardiacarrestawarenessmonth?#SCAAwarenessMonth?#SuddenCardiacArrestAwarenessMonth

It’s #NationalChildHealthDay. First proclaimed by President Coolidge in 1928, this day recognizes the care and guidance children need to grow strong and healthy. We know how important it is to pay attention to both the physical and mental health and safety of our kids. The all weather AEDs we help secure for public recreation spaces are in parks that families can enjoy outdoor activities in together. If you’re looking for books to read with your children about heart health, we love: -Cardiology for Kids -Hear Your Heart -Heart to Heart Cardiology for Kids #ChildHealthDay #suddencardiacarrest #sca #cardiacarrest #cpr #cprsaveslives #aed #thealiverfoundation #hearthealth #suddencardiacarrestmonth #cardiacarrestawarenessmonth #SCAAwarenessMonth #SuddenCardiacArrestAwarenessMonth

To kick off Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month, The Aliver Foundation held a family friendly community event with Berkeley Heights Township, Union County, NJ on October 1st to celebrate their commitment to helping hearts and saving lives. Together, we unveiled the town’s all weather, climate controlled, tamper proof outdoor automated external defibrillator (AED) enclosure and device located at Lower Columbia Park. Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad EMT, Charles Kleinberg, PMP, CSM, (who is also on our Advisory Council) spoke and then educated attendees on the importance of calling 9-1-1, how easy it is to do CPR compressions, and that there’s nothing to learn when it comes to using an AED – you literally just unzip a zipper, press a button, and follow voice prompts. Thank you to Associate?Recreation?Director, Carolyn George for recognizing the importance of having AEDs accessible to the public 24/7/365. We are grateful to you, Mayor Devanney, members of the Council, and the Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad for coming out in full force. The hope is that nobody will ever have to use this AED but knowing it is there, if needed, means everything.?? Coverage of this event can be found at: https://lnkd.in/eWWN4E4K. Pictured: ? There seems to be some miscommunication when talking about CPR requirements for high school students. The reality is most states and the District of Columbia know how important this is and have made it a priority. They should be celebrated. However, there are six states (plus a Huh? What? state) that apparently still have no legislation mandating CPR training for high school students. Let’s change that together. Can we count on you to help hearts and save lives? Here are the phone numbers for the Governor’s offices, if you’d like to call to demand they make this a priority: Alaska - (907) 465-3500 Hawaii - (808) 586-0034 Massachusetts - (617) 725-4005 Nebraska - (402) 471-2244 New Hampshire - (603) 271-2121 Wyoming - (307) 777-7434? And…. Colorado who simply “recommends” it - (303) 866-2885 Learn more about the awesome states that are committed to empowering high school students by scrolling down on this page: https://lnkd.in/e4fmtXvS And, let’s recognize Alabama. Back in 1983, they led the charge by passing the first law requiring CPR training for high school students. #suddencardiacarrest #sca #cardiacarrest #cpr #cprsaveslives #aed #thealiverfoundation #hearthealth #suddencardiacarrestmonth #cardiacarrestawarenessmonth #SCAAwarenessMonth #SuddenCardiacArrestAwarenessMonth

Like 7 out of 10 sudden cardiac arrests, Lauren Canaday's happened at home. Thanks to a long survival chain involving her husband who started CPR, local Fire-EMS, and many doctors & nurses during a 9 day stay in the ICU, she's alive. She's helping raise awareness, support survivors, and raise funds for all-weather AEDs in public spaces. If you'd like to donate to Lauren's campaign to purchase equipment to be installed in an outdoor recreation space, please visit: bit.ly/taflauren ? #suddencardiacarrest #sca #cardiacarrest #cpr #cprsaveslives #aed #thealiverfoundation #hearthealth #suddencardiacarrestmonth #cardiacarrestawarenessmonth #SCAAwarenessMonth #SuddenCardiacArrestAwarenessMonth
