Let's talk about AEDs. There's so much chatter about learning how to use an AED which unfortunately intimidates people. We're here to tell you that it's not hard. Click play on this audio graphic and share it far and wide to educated and in turn help hearts and save lives. 关于我们
The Aliver Foundation raises awareness and funds to install all weather AEDs in outdoor recreation spaces while also providing crucial resources and educational opportunities to individuals and communities. Our goal is simple. We want to save lives and help hearts by: 1) Increasing the number of all weather, climate controlled AEDs that are in outdoor recreation spaces 2) Creating access to educational opportunities like CPR and AED training 3) Providing resources and support to sudden cardiac arrest survivors and their loved ones 4) Circulating messaging about the difference between SCA and heart attacks as well as CPR and AED usage The Aliver Foundation was created out of necessity. On Friday, June 25, 2021, our founder, Jill A. Pall died from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) at Echo Lake Park in Union County, NJ. She is only alive because a bystander performed CPR until paramedics arrived onsite with an AED. Like most people who survive SCA, Jill was discharged from the hospital with no roadmap on what to expect. Endless Google searches allowed her to learn more about what SCA actually was and joining Facebook support groups let her learn from and lean on others in a similar situation. She realized that most people she encountered in her daily life did not understand the difference between SCA and a heart attack, weren’t trained in CPR, and didn’t know how easy it was to use an AED. She also noticed that while there were often AEDs inside many facilities and at organized sporting events/practices, there were really no outdoor, all-weather, climate controlled AEDs to be found in public recreation spaces. As a non profit executive with over two decades of industry experience, she decided to start The Aliver Foundation to help others. We have mobilized the survivor and loved ones community, engaged with various first responders and medical professionals, and partnered with other industry experts to serve as resources for our all volunteer foundation.

Last weekend we held a community event at Hanson Park in Cranford, NJ to celebrate the donation of an all weather, climate controlled, tamper proof AED enclosure and device to this public recreation space. Residents gathered with trustees from Hanson Park Conservancy, the Cranford Fire Department, the Cranford Police Department, and Rotary Club of Cranford members. Our Founder & President, Jill A. Pall, introduced our Board of Directors/Advisory Council members and detailed how speaking at a Cranford Rotary Club meeting led to the organization being selected to receive a donation from the group’s August golf tournament. Pall said she researched public recreation spaces in Cranford and contacted Ellen McHenry, President of Hanson Park Conservancy to discuss the donation. Pall noted that Cranford PD Capt. Matt Nazzaro was influential in advocating for this equipment, speaking with Lavona Patterson at the Township who facilitated accepting the donation almost immediately. “Anyone can become a lifesaver by quickly dialing 9-1-1 and beginning the emergency response to sudden cardiac arrest. Adding this outdoor AED to one of our most popular Township parks is an incredible step towards saving a life and keeping our residents safe,” said Nazzaro. Pall spoke about having cardiac arrest, an electrical issue with an 8% survival, at Echo Lake Park on June 25, 2021. She mentioned there was no AED in the park and introduced Ailene Connors-Albarron (now one of our board members), who performed CPR compressions on her for over ten minutes until paramedics arrived. Given that every minute without an AED decreases survival by 10%, Pall asked attendees to do the math. Board Member, Andrew Blumenstock talked some startling statistics, including the fact that white men were most likely to receive bystander CPR while the chances went down significantly for women and people of color, and encouraged attendees to not be afraid to step in and do something if presented with the opportunity. Following Pall and Blumenstock's remarks, Lt. John Dillon of the Cranford FD showed attendees how to do CPR compressions and how to use an AED through an interactive demonstration. The day was captured through the lens of Garrett Maney, Just A Soul Photography, and children had the opportunity to decorate a special “stethoscope” to take home to listen to hearts. "It's incredible to see the impact The Aliver Foundation has had in Union County, NJ and beyond in just 10 months since securing nonprofit status," Blumenstock said. The Aliver Foundation announced that by the end of the year, the organization will be directly responsible for over 100 all weather, climate controlled, tamper proof AED enclosures being installed in public recreation spaces, ensuring lives can be saved 24/7/365. #suddencardiacarrest #sca #cardiacarrest #cpr #cprsaveslives #aed #thealiverfoundation #hearthealth Charles Kleinberg, PMP, CSM Karolyn Buckridee Township of Cranford Cranford Police Department

Navigating life after sudden cardiac arrest can be really hard. When we started our organization in January, it was really important to us to have mental health programming for both survivors and their loved ones. Healing Hearts is our free virtual monthly online support group program facilitated by trauma therapist. We currently offer two groups each month (adult survivors and adult loved ones) in a safe space created for sharing, listening, and supporting. If you'd like to participate in either group please visit: https://lnkd.in/gBr4vugB. Please note that all participants in the program will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement to ensure their privacy and the privacy of the other group members. #suddencardiacarrest #sca #cardiacarrest #cpr #cprsaveslives #aed #thealiverfoundation #mentalhealthsupport Brianna Cheringal

Will we see you TOMORROW at NOON in Hanson Park? We'll be joined by our friends at the Cranford Rotary, representatives from the Hanson Park Conservancy, and the Cranford Fire Department who will conduct an interactive CPR/AED demonstration. We'll have a kids activity station where children can make their own "stethoscopes." The weather looks fantastic so be sure to come out for this short event to celebrate with us! #suddencardiacarrest #sca #cardiacarrest #cpr #cprsaveslives #aed #thealiverfoundation #cranfordnj #unioncountynj

You probably already know that we are incredibly passionate about making sure AEDs are available 24/7/365 in outdoor rec spaces. Why? Because EVERY MINUTE MATTERS! Our founder had cardiac arrest in the small dog run at Echo Lake Park in Union County, NJ over three years ago and there was no AED in the park.* A bystander performed CPR for over ten minutes until paramedics arrived. According to the stats, she should not be alive. We’re working with communities to help hearts and save lives. Let’s partner to bring an all weather, climate controlled, tamper proof AED enclosure and device to an outdoor space in YOUR neighborhood. Visit:?https://lnkd.in/edbAE5FM?to learn more. *Thanks to her steadfast advocacy, the enclosure model we recommended was used by Union County for their bidding process and 80 were ordered from AED Team (the vendor we also use) and are being placed in the County’s 36 parks before the end of the year. We are thrilled to have spearheaded this lifesaving effort. #suddencardiacarrest?#sca?#cardiacarrest?#cpr?#cprsaveslives?#aed?#thealiverfoundation
