With mixed evidence on effectiveness, we explore which approaches show the most promise and provide actionable recommendations for policymakers and practitioners. We’re excited to see Rocket Learning, Jacaranda Health, and Noora Health, three DRK Foundation portfolio organizations, selected for The Agency Fund’s AI for Global Development Accelerator. Launched in partnership with OpenAI and the Center for Global Development, the accelerator aims to fast-track AI solutions that drive meaningful development outcomes and enhance human agency. In addition to funding, each organization will have access to best-in-class engineers, data and behavioral scientists, and expert implementation resources. With this new support: Rocket Learning will leverage AI to equip parents and daycare workers with personalized development coaches and smart teaching assistants via WhatsApp to advance early childhood education for underserved children in India. Jacaranda Health will add an AI-powered voice Q&A functionality to their digital maternal health platform, PROMPTS, to bridge the gaps in care for low-literacy and sight-impaired mothers in Kenya. Noora Health will utilize OpenAI to enhance their Remote Engagement Service to provide patients and caregivers with personalized health support, automated query responses, and urgent assistance for high-risk cases in India.
