It’s Women’s History Month, and we’re talking about what it’s like to be a female CEO. One thing that we’ve learned is the value of having a mentor. Here are 5 tips for finding a mentor when you’re starting out in business or your career: 1??Clarify your goals: Before you look for a mentor, define what you hope to achieve. Whether it’s starting a business, learning a skill, or personal growth, know what you’re going after. 2??Identify potential mentors: Look within your existing network for people who have the qualities, skills, and experience you admire. Even if they don’t do the exact work you do, if they have relatable experience, it could be a fit. 3??Be genuine and respectful: When reaching out to potential mentors, be sincere and respectful of their time. Clearly articulate why you’re interested in them as a mentor & let them know your goals. 4??Demonstrate value: Show potential mentors that you’re committed to learning and growth. Most people will see the value in mentoring someone who truly wants to improve their leadership and business skills. 5??Express gratitude: Once you find a mentor, be sure to thank them for their time and guidance. Let them know you appreciate their investment in you and keep them updated on your progress.
