?? Making History: FAMU’s ABA Program Led by Tia D. Glover, MPH, M.Ed BCBA! ?? The field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is taking a monumental step forward, thanks to Tia Glover and her relentless dedication to expanding ABA education at HBCUs. At #BWIBAADCon25, Tia shared how she led the charge to bring an ABA program to Florida A&M University (FAMU)—which will soon be the first HBCU to offer a BCBA program! Her motivation? Seeing firsthand how cultural awareness was missing in ABA. She recalled a moment when a task analysis targeted “disrobing” simply because a Black client was sagging their pants. That moment made it clear: ABA must be more inclusive, representative, and responsive to the communities it serves. Tia refused to take “no” for an answer. She pitched the program, built the case, and pushed forward, despite hurdles in funding and policy. Now, FAMU is preparing to launch a BCBA & BCaBA program, setting the stage for a new era of Black excellence in ABA. ?? Why this matters: ? This is a game-changer for access & representation in ABA. ? HBCUs are stepping up to ensure Black professionals have pathways into the field. ?
