It’s been a busy summer for the 7uicefoundation team! Let’s recap what we’ve been up to so far, starting with the Dearborn STEM Academy graduation we attended. ? Jaylen’s mom, Mechalle Brown, was invited to be the keynote speaker for this event. We learned more about the amazing work being done at Dearborn STEM Academy, the first grade 6-12 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics school established in the city of Boston. ? Our Executive Director, Amanda K., also addressed the young people, reminding them that they are not only our future leaders but also our leaders today. She empowered them to enter rooms with audacity because their perspectives and voices not only matter but are valuable. ? A huge shoutout to Principal Darlene Marcano who has led the school toward impactful change and made it her mission to build meaningful relationships with the students—something we also believe in at 7uice Foundation. ? Valedictorian Christela St. Cyr spoke truths we didn’t know we needed to hear! She has a bright future, and we are so proud of her! Congratulations to the Dearborn STEM Academy Class of 2024! ??

We work towards equal opportunities that bridges gaps for folks of color to access opportunities in four key areas.
关于我们
Founded by NBA Celtics Player, Jaylen Brown, The 7uice Foundation’s work is centered on the premise that a history of systemic racism has created entrenched barriers to educational opportunity, socio-economic mobility, and access to health and wellness for marginalized Black and Brown communities. The 7uice Foundation’s signature Bridge Program is a multi-day educational and leadership initiative for Black and Brown youth from 8th to 12th grade. The Bridge Programs are offered in various cities and are custom-built to fit the needs of each community we impact.

You Got It Girl Growing?Independent?Resilient?Leaders Last week we wrapped up our final week of You Got It Girl and we can not thank you enough for getting your child to camp, whether for a few days or the entire 5 weeks. The summer months are crucial in youth development.?And creating spaces for young women and girls to feel safe and thrive is vital. We did just?that, as we saw 225 girls throughout the summer and this is only year 2. We are super excited for the future and possibilities?of?You Got It Girl. Thank you for your participation and support, this wouldn't be possible without all of the amazing young people who came out each day. We concluded our collaboration with?Franciscan Children’s CWI Summer Experience-??an SEL?group?that included fun activities that are integrated with learning to strengthen social and emotional?skills. Although the providers are mental health clinicians, the?groups?were?meant to help all students with stress and did not include their regular counseling services. The program was designed to be fun and active.?To support each student's academic potential by teaching coping strategies and decision-making?skills?that focus on the mental well-being of students.?Skills?that were taught included mindfulness,?distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotional regulation.?The?skills?were taught using hands-on, fun?activities in small?groups?and applied to all students. On Thursday and Friday, we spent the day at the Reggie Lewis Center, which allowed us to share a 3rd basketball court/gym with the girls and allow them some access to the indoor track. Thank you for having us Michael Turner! And on Friday, we got a visit from Mechalle Brown and Amanda K. of Jaylen Brown's 7uice Foundation, she shared some personal and professional wisdom with the girls and they joined us on a tour of Madison Park's vocation offerings. Mr. Stewart,?Career & Technical?Education?Admissions & Recruitment Manager at Madison showed us some of the wonderful offerings?of Madison Park High School.??Cosmetology, nursing, and culinary seemed to be the favorites of the places we visited. Join us tomorrow at 11am ET for the livestream of the 2024 Summer Middle School Zero Robotics Final Competition! ?? Led by the incredible Prof. Danielle Wood, the @MIT Media Lab’s Space Enabled research group, and the @Innovation Learning Center, the Zero Robotics program empowers middle school educators and students to program the NASA Astrobee robot on the International Space Station (ISS). This year, over 700 students tackled the “Lost in Space” challenge, where they programmed Astrobee to help rescue an astronaut after the ISS was hit by space debris. In an amazing twist, the MIT team is showcasing Astrobee’s ability to recognize hand gestures from American Sign Language! ?? We’re especially proud to share that five high school interns, sponsored by The 7uice Foundation, played a crucial role in supporting the Zero Robotics program this year. Tune in and witness the future of space exploration and innovation! ??? #ZeroRobotics #7uiceFoundation #SpaceEnabled #MITMediaLab #Innovation #STEM #NASA #Astrobee #SpaceExploration
At 11am ET on 7/31, tune into the livestream of the 2024 Summer Middle School Zero Robotics Final Competition! Co-led by Prof. Danielle Wood, the Media Lab's Space Enabled research group, and the @Innovation Learning Center, the Zero Robotics program gives middle school educators and students the opportunity to program the NASA Astrobee robot on the International Space Station (ISS). This year, more than 700 students tackled a game challenge called "Lost in Space.” For the fictional game scenario, participants asked the Astrobee robot to help rescue an astronaut after the ISS was struck by space debris. As part of the game and coding strategy, the MIT team is demonstrating the ability for Astrobee to recognize hand gestures from American Sign Language. This year, five high school interns helped support the Zero Robotics program; these five interns were sponsored by Media Lab director's fellow Jaylen Brown's nonprofit, The 7uice Foundation.

Faith. Consistency. Hard work. ??? Our bridge students from the 7uice Foundation joined our leaders Amanda Kuffoh (@amanda7uice), Jaylen Brown (@fchwpo) and the Celtics to celebrate their historic win!
